About
Richard, or Richie to some, was believed to have originated from Olde Foxbury, where his family resides.
As a child, Richie was raised by his parents to be a kind and respectful citizen, but they had coddled him so much to the point that he never really experienced things that were seen as "bad" to his parents. He couldn't play with the other children due to his parents' fear of him getting hurt. If he wanted to go out with a friend, his parents wouldn't be very far behind. He wasn't even allowed to have anything "junk food"-related, much to his dismay. Richie was a bit envious of his buddies, seeing them play tag outside and getting the privilege of eating sweets, while he himself was cooped up indoors with a book and a little plate of carrots.
Because he was forbidden from doing anything "dangerous", he developed a bit of an attitude and personality change once he hit adolescence. His parents wondered what happened to their little foal who they tried to hard to "raise right". He isolated himself from other people, snapped at anyone who tried to approach him, and would threateningly stamp his hoofs when he got impatient. In truth, he was just confused about most of his life. He didn't really understand a lot of things, and his parents didn't exactly explain or tell him what was bad and why. And he was going to experience those things that were once forbidden from him.
...even though he was a bit upset at his parents for keeping things from him, he still loved them of course. And even though he comes off as rude, inconsiderate and cold he still has morals, things he's picked up from his mom and dad's parenting.

Though he sort of comes off as a sort of a "thug"-type person in attitude, appearance and behavior, he's rather hospitable and sympathetic of people who come off as weak or shy, often wanting to stand up for those who can't defend themselves.
In scuffles, Richie calls on his pet Samuel, who is often mistaken for a winged metal baseball bat crudely wrapped in barbed wire. This creature has a hard head, something that can be applied to his owner, so he's able to handle being wielded like a weapon.
Richard doesn't talk much, and when he does people often notice his odd "accent", which makes his pronunciation sound a little...funny. When nervous or flustered, his accent seems to get a bit worse and he might even end up stuttering.
He often talks in a light-but-gruff tone of voice, and will sometimes drop a vulgar word into his conversations, but he is capable of speaking in a calm or respectful manner. If he's ever complimented, something he isn't used to, he will usually end up stuttering and will probably snap back at the compliment-er with a jumble of obscene words, but in reality he's just embarrassed or flattered and is trying to hide it.
