Villager: Wick the Candlerat

Candlerats have a body made from soft warm wax heated by an internal source that shows through the mouth and eyes. This internal flame must always be kept burning, as when it is extinguished the candlerat dies and its waxy body becomes hard and brittle and easily shatters into lumps of wax. While the candlerat is healthy its body remains soft and malleable enough to move, they dislike winter as it becomes harder to keep their body warm enough to stay soft and they must feed more fuel to their inner fire to keep it burning hot enough to prevent their body freezing up. Unlike a regular animal they don't require nutrition from the fuel they consume to keep their inner fire burning and therefore anything that can burn is on the menu, though they are fond of toast.
