Villager: Buster

A timetraveler and shapeshifter who's often adopted by humans. In the medieval times they called him Buster, but the modern folks call him Xavier. His owners he ends up with spoil him constantly. Most end up with him hoping to have it be their protector, but the creature is pacifist without any desire to fight. Despite that, if ever necessary he can appear threatening to scare off anything hostile towards his humans. He's also been used for transportation at times which he doesn’t seem to mind it all.
