Dagon - ??? - Any Pronouns

Nobody is quite sure what species Dagon is- or where it even comes from. All anyone really knows is that it has lived in the ruins surrounding Oceandome for as long as anyone can remember. Despite the ominous stone carvings and ancient murals within the ruins that seem to depict some kind of tentacled apocalypse, they insist to be peaceful, and so far their actions have definitely reflected that. They serve as the defacto leader and protector of the village and the deep-sea trenches in general, appearing to explorers who delve too deep in the labyrinthine caves and ruins to guide them to safety.

Outside of their general managerial duties he has a passion for music and song, being able to produce deep eerie tones that reverberate for miles. His favourite hobby however is collecting stories. It's a village tradition to invite travellers into the ruins where he lives and to share a ceremonial meal with them in exchange for a story from their life. It records them on stone tablets of its own and maintains an extensive archive- when asked why, all he tells anyone is 'so we don't lose it all again'.
