About

Gigahertz #7752/Nana | It/He/They | Ghost Bat | Robot
The outer god at the core of the earth is not the only thing that lies below the town of Deerfield. A scientific research company referred to as Titan Labs is known not just in Deerfield but throughout the whole world. Their achievements in research have continuously pushed these lands to further and further positive advancement, they are nothing to scoff at. However, what most don't know is that in many locales around the world, Titan Labs has underground labs that spiral deep into the earth, like an upside down tower. Deerfield just so happens to be the location of Titan Labs' main underground facility, where they research the outer god that lies beneath.
Almost everyone knows not to gaze upon the ungazeable, that being in close proximity to an outer god can not only be fatal, but extremely detrimental to the mental wellbeing of witnesses. As the Titan Labs employees in this facility worked very closely to the allfather, there was an unprecedented rise in mental health related incidents. One researcher that worked in what is called the Robotics Wing came to the conclusion that there may be something he and his team could do. It may have been a small gesture, but they began to set out to design what would be a "therapeutic" robot that would aid the affected employees with what was dubbed "Comprehension Madness".
This robot was to be made with a number of details in mind to help achieve this goal, the most prominent being a calming infrasound it would be able to emit at low frequency. It was several years into the project when the higher ups, the admins, of Titan Labs made the request that this new robot be given a pulse light, a soul basically. Souls are tangible things here and can be easily collected and placed into things, and as such it is used when making robots and AIs in certain need cases. They decided on this as you probably would want your therapist to have a soul. Once the finishing touches were being put in place, it was finally time to put in this pulse light. Instead of using any of the ones the labs provided, the head of the project used the pulse light from his son, who had passed away previously.
This unfortunately doesn't mean that he was able to revive his son, as when people die here they are gone- though, the soul that was inside them can still be harnessed and used. As such, this robot, Gigahertz, had no idea that his pulse light was so special to his creator. Souta, his creator, always treated him very much like a son- and Hertz never really knew why. Hertz was able to work as a therapeutic aid in the labs for quite some years before Souta received an order from the admins again. He was to shut Hertz down, as the main facility was experiencing some concerns over robots after an ordeal with a rogue AI taking over the building. Bad things happen to those who don't follow the orders of the admins, and Souta had to make the choice to shut Hertz down for his own safety. It wasn't until decades later that Hertz was taken out of storage by an employee of the now rebranded Titan Labs, Grim Robotics. They mostly used Hertz for parts and abused him for years
Fortunately, this man is long since dead, and Hertz is no longer trapped with him. Now working as a radio host, Hertz uses his (small) platform to spread news, as he's very much more of a journalist. He often speaks out about the mistreatment that AIs like him receive and uses his free time to provide aid and comfort to other abused robots. He's very empathetic, and as programmed- really good at consoling others. However, Hertz is very neurotic and high strung after years of abuse. He was designed to care for and look after organic people, which is what ended up hurting him in the end. He has a lot of conflicts in his coding, being both scared of organics while also feeling the need to be there for them. Hertz often finds solace, at the very least, in some of his interests- taking care of plants and animals, and even drawing.
