Villager: Blackwood

On outward appearances Etsuko is almost mute and avoids interaction with others. She has only one eye, which makes is difficult to confidently navigate a three-dimensional world and sometimes she may appear slow and clumsy. This weakness eats at her self confidence, and for this reason she would rather be alone, for fear of rejection or embarrassment in the sight of others. However she is incredibly adept at staying quiet and hidden, and the ability to shapeshift is a definite plus. She is a tanuki, and able to change form to a degree that is amateurish among her kind but good enough for the purpose of her real craft: espionage and assassination. As a youngling most of her time was spent quietly working in a textile shop, though only by day. She was trained by her mentor to often service some odd costumers. While she does not maim by brute force instead she carefully devises traps and poisons to do the work when she isn't around. However since the unfortunate burning of the textile shop and her mentor's disappearance Etsuko is facing the challenges of adapting to independent life. If only there were others to recognize her true potential, and may she find the the ability to confide in them.


Kira: Her closest friend, as Kira's calm and quiet manner compliments her own. Also both are similarly learned in alchemy and potions.

Stranglethorne: Was originally taken aback by his brash confidence but his open support for her has led to uncomfortable but rewarding experiences.

Yaroslava: Just sort of accepts each other's presence. Does really enjoy their cooking however.
