Personality: Albion is a quiet, soft-spoken individual, only speaking when it is necessary and usually in small phrases. He's not above having conversations with people though, but it doesn't happen often. Due to his up-bringing, he has no concept of 'luxuries' or material want and can sometimes be overwhelmed by it if introduced to him.
Special Ability: Albion comes from a tribe of Snowy Owl Gryphons that had the ability to shift between anthropomorphic and quadruped forms at will. Albion, of course, has this ability and will use it whenever the situation calls for it.
Backstory:
Albion was born blind within a mountain tribe, causing him to be shunned by most of the tribe except for his mother and father. They both promised to raise him as best they could, but it was not to be.
Shortly after Albion was born, the tribe was attacked by a band of bounty hunters, whom had been commissioned by Upper Class individuals ('High Born' as the tribe would call them) to capture and enslave tribes like Albion's as 'flashy pets'/slaves. Most Upper Class saw tribes like Albion's as the lowest of the low, due to their ability to shift between anthro and 'feral' forms, whereas they believed they were 'better' than them because they were more 'civilized'.
While the tribe's warriors attempted to defend the tribe, the surprise attack left them little time to prepare themselves and were soon overwhelmed, most killed. All that most of the tribe could do now was try to escape, but even that seemed near futile as the bounty hunters used nets to catch them. However, due to being forced to live of the edges of the tribe, Albion's mother had more time to try and escape with her son, getting out of range of the bounty hunter's nets before they could reach her. She couldn't get out of range of their guns in time though, and was gravely wounded by their shots before she got out of range of them.
Albion's mother flew for as long as she could, until she eventually but slowly dropped out of the sky. Her only turn of luck was that she landed near a monastery made up of gecko and lizard monks. Spotting her landing, they soon found her and her son and brought them to the monastery. They tried to save her, but one of her wounds was fatal and little could be done. With her dying breaths, she asked the monks to raise her son, knowing he would be safe with them and finally gave him his name, Albion. The monks promised they would raise him as best they could, and she passed on peacefully.
The monks did as they promised and raised Albion amongst them, teaching him how to speak, read and write, as well as how to climb and fly. They also eventually taught him their form of martial arts, as a way for him to be able to defend himself if violence was completely unavoidable, becoming particularly proficient in using the bō staff. Despite his blindness, Albion was a hard-working student and eventually came to a point that there was little more that the monks could teach him. They gave him a choice; to remain at the monastery and live out his life there, or have the chance to travel the world beyond, becoming a nomadic monk yet with the knowledge he would always have a home at the monastery should he ever wish to return.
Albion chose to travel. With nothing but the clothes on his back, a bō staff made specifically for him, and a travel pouch with about a week's worth of supplies and his alms bowl, Albion set off from the monastery to travel and learn more of the world.
He's been traveling ever since.
It hasn't been without it's perils though, as bounty hunters and slavers attempt to hunt him down and capture him for any 'High Born' that wants a 'commodity' like him.
