November is here (and has been for a whole day already, sorry we are late guys) so you know what that means, it’s that time again, new monthly goodies!
We’ve also got some Festival info for you so be sure to check that out as well after you are done taking a peek the adorable new stash of Minipets!
New Minipets
The November FD Pets are here! Let's check out what we have for this month...
First up we’ve got Felilidae! We’re not sure who had the idea to cross a kitten with a hummingbird but we’re sure glad that they did!
Watch out, we hear that the Flutter Bandit’s favorite thing to do is steal...But they sure are cute, maybe even cute enough to steal your heart!
These are called Dunks! And we’re just going to leave it at that and move on...
FD Pets can be obtained from the FurDollar Emporium. They have five day breeding cool downs and are available for breeding until December 1st, when a new batch of FD Monthlies will be released.
Festival Updates
And now we have some news for the end of the DMM Halloween festival. The official end date is now the 14th of November. The Shop will close on the 21st of November.
As for the Pumpkin Contest, here's a quick run down of the reward tiers:
2,500 grams will net you the gold trophy, as well as Chester's Hat.
1,500 grams will net you the silver trophy.
500 grams will net you the bronze trophy.
Due to feedback, you'll only receive one trophy for the highest tier reached. For every 5000 grams thereafter, you'll receive a special Dragonsmaw Pie item. You can now earn up to 20 of these.
On the 14th of November, the Hallowed Potion will have its price raised to 1,000 FD. Be sure to get yours now, if you're after it!
We'll have an update soon when the Pumpkin Treats are working correctly. Keep an eye on the change-log for this!
Finally, we'd like to apologize to everyone for the chaos of the event, and thank everyone for your patience - we've pushed back the closing date to make sure everything goes smoothly. As some form of compensation, we'll have a bonus exploration event available from the 14th through to the 21st.
Regarding Monthly Contests
Unfortunately we won’t be hosting our normal monthly contests this month. We are seeing very low participation numbers and are planning to do some polling and chatting with all of you out there to see what we can do to make contests more appealing.
We are hoping to be able to come back to you all in December with improved contests that you’ll be lots more interested in entering. And we are looking forward to working with you guys to make that happen!
As for the September and October winners, be on the lookout for a big news post later this week with ALL of the winning entries!
*We will also be announcing the results of the Recycle Species vote soon, we haven’t forgotten, just working out a few little details behind the scenes.*

The difference is that the potion allows you to get SRs that AREN'T in the FD emporium, many of which sell in the user shops for over 3000 FD for the SR coloration. FD Emporium pets have their own worth, SRs of pets from the villages are different. Even 3000 FD is cheap for village based pets.
Okay but are we going to get more items in the event shop?
As someone who actively participated in fur idol and dipped into a few contest, I can honestly say it's just a lack of time issue due to the school year. I was driven by the trophies more than anything, so when free time became sparse I was willing to put that on hold, especially since I didnt want to decrease my entry quality just to participate.
Since I'm not an artist, I can't really enter any paintie contests. I wouldn't even if I could because the rewards look totally not worth it.
That said, what I could enter would be a writing contest... which I didn't enter because I didn't understand the terms very well and felt if I was gonna get paintie contest rewards, it wouldn't have been worth my time. Maybe if I like the theme more next month and the rewards are bumped up, I'll consider poking in there!
Anyways, thanks for the updates and clarifications, especially on the recycle species. Looking forward to that explore event! Hopefully by then I'll have eaten all the candy I withdrew out of my stash and have space to explore again. Toothache here I come!
I didn't take part in the Halloween writing contest because of the 2k word cap. Any writer will telly you not to limit his abilities to a mere 2k words, especially with a topic of horror/creepy. And December will be no better. Most of us are studying for exams or finishing up the semester (in NV they switched the schedule so exams would be the week before Xmas break rather than the week after), others are making plans for Xmas and working overtime to get the money for the trip, and, like me, I'll be with my family, working, and (since it's Idaho), shoveling more snow than you vould wish for.
The writing contest is awesome, it was just to restrictive. Get some advertising out there for it, lessen the rules to a 5 oage 12 pt font (when submitted must be 12 ot font arial or TNR) that way nobody loopholes it. And it was goretober. Most of the artists were overbooked with gore and halloween themed commissions and just didnt have the time for the contests :/
I'm sure part of the monthly contest decline has to do with the prizes not being worth the amount of work spent, but I think this month in particular has to do more with everyone being busy for the holiday and the festival. I know a few people who said they would have entered had they not been busy making costumes, doing things for Halloween, and working on the FV festival.

and i think the paintie contests are cool, but i don't want my villagers to chill around being piles of goo in the hopes that -maybe- they'll get a paintie, so i won't enter them until after they already have one. if paintie contests are even still around by then lmao.
@arts-waifu It would only be 1k FD if you actually have a rare. If you're unlucky and only have a common, using the potion will make it more expensive than buying the SR outright from FDE.
