Something suddenly emerges from the shadows ahead. It is quite large and furry, sporting a pair of ebon feathered wings that stretch from wall to wall.
The ominous creature slides an ambiguous lump of meat towards you and roars, "HELLO FRIEND! MONSTRUM IS HAPPY THAT YOU ARE HERE!"
It doesn't look terribly appetizing, but you're hesitant to refuse a gift from someone who looks like they could pulverize you without breaking a sweat. Maybe one of your carnivorous pets would enjoy a taste?
As you scoop up the bloody flesh in your paws, the wickerbeast emits a blood-curdling screech and charges into a random tunnel. Other worrisome noises can be heard in that general direction; metal clanging, visceral splattering, pained screaming. You decide it's probably best to move on as soon as possible...
No one is quite sure where this wickerbeast came from, or why it has wings - but it has claimed the caverns as its home, and defends them fiercely.
