What happens to a guardian angel when their charge dies prematurely? When the child rises to heaven, they take their angel's halo. And without a halo, one cannot stay in heaven, and they are cast down.
Unloved fell.
Because of this, she believes she's worthless and a plague to humanity. After years and years of guarding humans and succeeding, one failure plummeted her into depression and believing she's unloved. After stumbling into Quetzal Palace and meeting Warcry, only then is she starting to believe in herself again.
