Villager: Mel

Nobody talks about this guy much. From what you gather, he's not new, but he hasn't been around much. You only manage to catch passing glimpses of him, but apparently that's pretty great for him in terms of social interaction. For a while, you don't learn much about him at all, but Bramble is happy to claim that he probably killed the old Mel and took his place. "He doesn't even like tailoring anymore, that was like, his entire deal. The whole reason he left in the first place. Sounds suspicious to me."
No matter your stance on whether he is truly Mel or not, you learn that he used to be a Hyena who travelled a long way to search for tailor's patterns from all across the land. However, he returned not long ago, claiming that he had been kidnapped by an alchemist while he was doing business in Dragonsmaw Manor, and turned into a beast.

Mel | He/Him

Mel came from a rather high class family. He found the life he was used to stressful and craved peace and personal space more than anything, leading him to move to this particular village in Tigereye Peak. Hearing that it was new was appealing to him, though he's still not quite up to seeing that many people yet.
On top of his social stress, being a tailor when very little in the way of resources are available to you is not an easy task. He then decided to bide his time by making himself useful in the only other way he knew how. Not being a nuisance. He spent a great deal of time travelling across the lands in search of exotic patterns, but his quest was cut short in Dragonsmaw Manor. When he came across an alchemist that said she could turn him into anything he wanted for a simple price, he accepted, bought himself a potion, and became a Wickerbeast. He absolutely loves his new form, but he felt the need to lie about it out of guilt for abandoning his career as a tailor.
