Nightmare was created by a loving old man scientist hundreds of years ago to help his town ridden with nightmares. After countless failed attempts, he finally managed to create a living creature; using his childhood stuffed animal as the soul.
His creation would feed off of the negative energy of the nightmares, leaving the people with only happy dreams. Unfortunately the old man calculated wrong, and Nightmare consumed dreams instead.
Outraged, the people turned on the man, threatening to kill his beloved creation.
He sent his precious and loved creation out into the world in hopes that they would survive. Nightmare never knew why they had to leave; they were only doing what they were told.
But now they've settled, spending their time collecting logs with mushrooms on them.

Nightmare communicates using chirps, purrs, hisses, squeaks, and clicks. They're tail is more of a storage system, as it cannot digest food.
Their favorite snack is blueberries, and they always store as many as possible to eat later.
