Sweet gentle creatures, baluns consume various forms of gasses- preferring helium and oxygen, or more commonly carbon dioxide. When agitated they will rub together, creating a high pitched squeak that's rather uncomfortable for the agitator to listen to and can obtain deafening levels of volume. They are also capable of generating minor static fields and can generate light shocks. Using this ability they can hide in high places for safety.
