Ezio is infected with
Lycanthropy. Changes into a beastly monster after exposure to moonlight or especially frustrating board games. Howling at the moon relieves the symptoms for a little while, but use a Golden Apple for best results.
About
Sadly, three generations before Ezio's birth, the family's fortune was wasted on a gambling exploit, leaving them only their home and a fraction of their possessions just to make ends meet.
Despite the desperate times they had fallen on, the family kept its morals and continued to take on weary travellers, sharing what meagre things they had to offer, even if it was just a roof over one's head and a dry bed.
By the time Ezio had become the family head, the estate had finally returned to some level of prosperity. While it wasn't nearly as illustrious as it had been before, it had at least managed to lift itself out of the poverty it had been in for two long generations.

Ezio is a young and somewhat naive boy. At the tender age of 18, he was bestowed the title of family head after his mother's passing, being the only child. Until that point he had been studying medicine, inspired by his constant care of his ailing mother. While still learning the ins and outs of being a leader, he has inherited the same loving and open-minded nature his family is known for. He's quick to trust and rarely holds a grudge; the textbook definition of a bleeding heart.
While that outlook HAS gotten him into a bit of hot water in the past, it has served him well for the most part, and the family name has once again become a hot topic around the Palace.
As humble as he is kind, Ezio is no stranger to hard work, often working alongside his patrons to keep the estate up and running. He's a favourite among the residents and those of the Gallagher-O'Shea household are immensely loyal to him, treating him like family, just as he treats them.
As for his sole living parent, Ezio's father couldn't be more proud of his young son, often bragging on him to anyone who'll listen. Even with his ailing health, he refuses to stay put and always happens to be meddling around somewhere on the estate. He provides Ezio with a gentle, guiding hand, trying to help his son as much as he can with his leadership role (despite having a meagre knowledge of leading the clan) and Ezio trusts him implicitly.
Despite the tumultuous history of the Gallagher-O'Shea clan, things are finally looking up after 80 long years of hardship. And while Ezio may be young and is FAR from experienced, he already has the making of a great leader and the future is looking brighter by the day...
