Legion is an amalgamation of souls. Specifically, it is the amalgamation of the souls of children who died unjustly - those who died to abuse, murder, preventable illness, et cetera. Its voice isn't just one voice, but the voices of all the children its consumed; as such, it is neither male or nor female, nor both. It sounds like many children speaking at at once.
It is a kind creature, very caring and loving. It wants nothing to do with those who haven't died, loves playing with children - provided the children who can see them are healthy, as usually only children who are on the brink of death can see it - and it gets its thrills out of enacting revenge on whoever or whatever killed a child within it.
Some people have come to believe that Legion simply takes the souls of the children, when this is not true. No... every soul within Legion is willing, had been asked if they wished to join it, and if they said no, Legion simply stayed by their side until they passed, ever a vigilant watcher to make sure their death was as peaceful as possible.

The Origin was intrigued at this point. "What you once were? And what would that be?"
"And what if no souls wish to join you, what would become of you?"
The Origin's ears lie flat and they shake their head. "I never said that you took them against their will. One can take and give, shelter and free. I only wanted to know your reasoning." They were glowing lightly at this point. "Though i feel that your reasoning for taking memories is similar to my own. To give ones that never had a chance, some solace."
The Origin makes an annoyed noise. "I assure you, there is only one being truely like me." Their ears prick foward slighly. "I hear you are one to take the memories of innocent ones. Why is that?"
The Origin loafs, being incredibly tall it just made it easier for the being to hear those who were smaller than them. "I am known by my creations as the Origin."
(Aaah sorry i just have a bit of trouble calling living things an 'it' aha
I'm kind of used to that being an insult)The Origin seems to make a soft humming noise. "You are legion." It wasn't really a question.
The Origin approaches Legion quietly, observing them it seemed.
Worros seemed to sigh silently, his masked face bobbing just a bit. "The guardians, my kind, were made by a being known as the Origin to protect the innocent and those who need protecting. Though at times, there is only so much we can do..."
Worros nods lightly and his good ear perks up just a bit. "My name is Worros and i am a Guardian. It is nice to meet you Legion."
"Normally i would say that there are two sides to every story, but ending the young and innocent is unforgivable. In a sense i agree."
