Ever meet a person who just doesn't take things seriously? Doesn't know when to stop joking and messing around? It's not like they really want to be rude or anything, it's just how they come off.

Well, Ulysses is that guy.

A majority of his personality revolves around his various teaching jobs and horrible jokes. But, there is a heart underneath that layer of grime. There's even a chance it's still beating. He swears up and down that he means well by everything he says but, tends to omit a lot. So much for being a swell guy.

Really, he does mean well. He's still catching up with being a "good guy". Which is pretty hard when you've been on the wrong side of history for about four centuries. What's a guy to do? Can't really take all of it back. (Although all that history really isn't something he's too keen on talking about.)
