Villager: Love Hurts

This Arch-Demon has a long history as a queen.

Love Hurts took her name from the hurt and anger she felt at the king, her ex-husband's betrayal. He had killed her, when the woman he was cheating with told him to. She ended up in Hell, probably because of the curse that her husband had used to kill her with. Because of the huge radius of negative energy that she was emitting when she woke up in hell, several demons took her to the Demon Lord himself- and she became his ultimate weapon, the first Arch-Demon. She has been utilized several times, to quell the demon riots and to cause chaos in the human realm.

On one mission, she encountered her ex-husband, who was enjoying a night out with his new wife, the very woman who had ordered her death. The years of training she had done under the Demon Lord slipped away, and she lost herself to rage. She confronted him, and then killed his wife in front of him. His death was slow and painful, and when he died, he too ended up in Hell- along with his wife. However, since the Demon Lord had taken a liking to LH, he granted her wish for their memories to be returned to them, just as hers had. She was also granted the right to torture the two for the rest of eternity.



(I did say the Demon Lord took a liking to her, right? Here's where that goes.)

The Demon Lord Sirius, previous to LH's first husband's passing, had taken her under his wing and sheltered her when she was first brought to his palace. She didn't trust him, partially because of how comforting he was, and how impressive he seemed to her. Eventually though, she did grow to trust him more, and even developed romantic feelings towards him. Shortly after LH killed her ex-husband, Sirius realized his own feelings, and asked her how she felt about him. She had no choice but to be truthful, and so he told her how he felt. Once the two had grown accustomed to these new feelings, LH decided that she would start courting him. (She always had a slightly backwards way of doing things, and so it didn't really come as a surprise to Sirius when she was the one bringing him things instead of the other way around.) After a few years of this, they got engaged- and after the engagement, it was announced that they would be wed on the Summer Solstice of the next year. The ceremony was quick and private, and the two have lived contently ever since.

The paintie and backstory were inspired by the song "Kiss and Make Up" by Dua Lipa and BLACKPINK, as well as one of my headmates.
