Originally concepted by a man named Navin, Kilo.Joule was set to be a successor to another robot Navin had in his possession, that being Gigahertz. Navin began to strip Hertz of parts to be used in his new robot. Problem is, Hertz is a sentient living being with thoughts and feelings, so what Navin was doing was awful. To make matters worse, the reason Hertz is sentient whilst also being a robot is due to the fact his original creator gave him a soul. The soul of his deceased son. Parts of that very special soul that are now being yanked out of Hertz with some of the parts that are taken out. Hertz lost a considerable amount of his soul, but what was missing from him was enough to give Navin's new project sentience as well.

While this was enough to give Joules sentient thought, it was not enough to give him the same humanity that Hertz has. Joules has no empathy, emotion, or feeling regarding things, and is very inhuman and eerie. He too would be abused and messed with by Navin. Not as friendly, forgiving, and pacifistic as Hertz, Joules decided he had enough of this shit and actually stood up for the both of them. He ended up malfunctioning himself to kill Navin in a "freak accident".

Quite gruesomely as well, Joules was able to further enact some karma by doing the exact thing Navin was doing to them. Joules took the head, limbs, and tail off of Navin's body and installed his own robotic ones in place, essentially now using what is left of Navin's dead body as his own- as he was incomplete still at the time. Unfortunately, this caused a huge rift between him and Hertz. For the longest time, all these two had was each other, and they had developed a bond. Hertz always felt very bad for Joules and his lack of humanity, as Hertz is designed to be incredibly empathetic and he just can't fathom not having that ability. He always gave Joules way more benefit of the doubt than he deserved, always finding a way to excuse and apologize on his behalf for behaviors that were definitely warning signs if anything.

While Joules feels no remorse for killing and butchering Navin, Hertz definitely does. Despite the mistreatment, Hertz never wanted any harm to come to Navin and this is ultimately what caused their falling out. Hertz left, leaving Joules alone to his own devices. While Hertz would go on to use this experience to better himself and to help other robots, Joules took this experience as an excuse to keep being horrible to organic people and even other robots. Basically siblings with the same soul, they now oppose each other on opposite ends. Hertz is manning a movement to get rights and acceptance for sentient AIs like he and Joules, while Joules is using his ability to hack other robots to make them harm humans, causing more dislike and fear for AIs.

Very good with machinery, programming, and hacking- Joules likes to make other robots and program them. He's very good at hacking other AIs, even if they're sentient like him. He is also very good at making medical machinery, as he has made a breathing device that keeps the dead lungs of the body going. Mostly staying in his room all the time, he can be pretty lazy and doesn't do much. The robots he hacks are usually the ones carrying out his plans of ruining shit. Like Hertz, Joules has conflicting feelings with humans- he does find them interesting, but he is also DEATHLY afraid of them. However, he thinks showing fear is a sign of weakness, and that if he does so the humans will hurt him again. As such, when around humans- he can be very violent out of fear, kind of like a giant spooked horse. While he may not like robots OR humans, Joules does actually like animals. He has a soft spot for them, and is especially fond of dogs and wolves.
