Matcha is infected with Lycanthropy. Changes into a beastly monster after exposure to moonlight or especially frustrating board games. Howling at the moon relieves the symptoms for a little while, but use a Golden Apple for best results.

Matcha is my main fursona!

Lore-ish
Matcha is a thylacine from a long line of mammalian water elementals called Koimono. The Koimono derive their powers from the koi that complete their quests to become dragons. To show reverence to these brave koi, their coats are colored like the fish that make that magical journey.

While Koimono are expected to be graceful, humble, and demure, Matcha is the exact opposite. With a sharp tongue, biting wit, and a devil-may-care attitude, Matcha is looked down upon by her clan as being immature.

Matcha has the magical prowess to afford being brash and lazy and doesn't take much of what her clan has to say personally. She can manipulate, walk on, and breathe underwater. She also can stir up mighty whirlpools with the use of her giant matcha whisk enchanted with draconic magic.
