Biography
Marcus is the first of three born to Richard Scott Rison and Evelyn Marie Fischer-Rison in the village of Wellwyn, between Ohio and Pennsylvania. His siblings Elijah and Shaun follow him by 3 and 5 years with Shaun being born outside of the limits of Wellwyn.
.Marcus is the first of three born to Richard Scott Rison and Evelyn Marie Fischer-Rison in the village of Wellwyn, between Ohio and Pennsylvania. His siblings Elijah and Shaun follow him by 3 and 5 years with Shaun being born outside of the limits of Wellwyn.
Due to his Waybryn genetic makeup, it's clear that he has a distinct makeup separate from his parents and brothers. It however has amplified the presence of a gene for a rare, vision-flawing phenomenon called Hemralopic Retinal Dystrophy, also called Retinitis Pigmentosa and "Day Blindness." This condition causes the color receptors to develop in a lesser quantity than necessary and it weakens the ability for the eye to render standard quantities of light as a result.
Unfortunately, both of his parents were a recessive carrier of the gene, and Marcus's eyes developed without any color receptors at all This makes Marcus totally blind, and only able to distinguish the presence of light and not an image. Marcus cannot make out anything at all. He can only feel light on the retina of the eye.
This situation makes Marcus the target for people at the school he attended. His lack of vision and his parent's political ties make him a high priority for the jerks of the school. As unfair as it may seem, he does have a few friends, even a neighbor to aid him. It's not enough, and he now lives subject to his decision. Running away has caused him a great deal of dismay, although he did learn how to echolocate.
