Update on the Item Exploit

Hi furriends!
Its been an exciting day trying to clean up as much as we could resulting from the exploit mentioned in the previous news post. For obvious reasons I will not elaborate on what was done, but a player had seemingly discovered an exploit that allowed them to effectively create items illegitimately.
We will work on closing this exploit, while also monitoring the logs to make sure no one has or will do the same thing going forward. As far as we know, this is the first time this particular exploit has been used, and it required a level of clear intent to achieve it.
As a reminder, taking advantage of any exploit is strictly forbidden and results in a permanent ban.
Items of varying value and quantities were dumped into the Giving Tree and we have completed the process of manually removing the most concerning items. Certain items of less value and certain circumstances were exempted. For example, if you received an item in trade or as a gift, purchased an item in the stall, or already used the item, then in most cases it was left alone.
We feel satisfied that we cleaned up what was necessary and fair.
As of this post you can rest assured that any item you still have that you obtained as a result of the offending player's exploitation is now legitimate for you to do with as you wish.

Yikes, glad you were able to fix the exploit.
Thankfully I wasn't even online to even see this happen to accidentally take something. Still, it makes me sad to see people take advantage of such a nice gaming site, especially one in which its staff works so hard to make great for everyone, just to get ahead in virtual currency and items. It's just a game. Play fair so everyone can have fun or leave. (And thank you to the staff for fixing this mess <3)
That's good that you caught them! When I saw the giving tree filled up with leaves I just thought somebody was being nice, so I took a few without knowing what happened.

uhmmm, I still have 2 Buckeye leaves from the giving tree. Could I keep them? Are they legit?

NewAlpha yes once we knew where to look the evidence was clear. So at least that specific user account should no longer be able to do it again. But of course, we'll need to vigilant. It benefits us all to have Furvilla be as clean and fair as possible! :)
