Zombie Rabbit Villager Concerns

Good evening everyone! It seems there is a bit of upset regarding one of our Dragonsmaw Manor Event villager colorations due to the gore factor. Unfortunately we are restricted by coding and will not be able to tag the colorations for those users that are not comfortable with this type of content.

But what I can do is offer an option to any user that wishes to own this coloration and also wants to be sure other users are still comfortable viewing their profiles and villagers!

We will create a thread, once the Magic Zombie Rabbit Plush is officially released, for users to request that their villager be "paintied". Users will provide a villager link to their Zombie Rabbits and I will go through, putting "Painties" onto the villager (the exact same image) so that the Gore tag can be added.

I hope that this will be helpful to all parties. Thank you for expressing your concerns and being patient with us.

EDIT: I am discussing options with some of my Mod team as we are reading your comments and seeing that the proposed solution may not work as we'd like it to. Once we have a solid hold on a final plan we will let you all know! Thanks again for being patient and working with us!

    • I'm not disturbed by it (I like how it's quite unique) but you could do what you did with the shark potion is have two options for the zombunny the picture could stay as the plush since the plush is a bit more friendlier thenpeople get to pick:
      Zombunny (Gore):
<warning this is rather graphical if you are disturbed by gore we strongly suggest the below option>
      Zombunny (No Gore)

There could also be a special option you could make so a person's account is flagged so it shows a "No gore zombunny (maybe be a default?)" like something in account settings to toggle on and off for those who don't want to see it so it gets replaced with a more friendly version (if that makes any) I'm not a programmer though just a thought for a possible account settings that might help people.

I have been reading and participating, and many of the users who are fine with it, are also saying they understand why something needs to be done because not everyone else is fine.

Also, just because some people block over things like that doesn't mean that everyone else does. I haven't blocked anyone because I only block for certain things. I would hate that my only option would be to block a user because they use villagers I don't like. the five seconds can also be too long if you are literally triggered (which I am not, but I know others are) into having panic attacks.

Gore painties are already supposed to be tagged so people can block them. I really don't see why people can't understand the problem when the site itself makes something that is said to be far worse than nearly every gore paintie out there and it can't be blocked.

Not to mention, right now, I think most people know about the rabbit by now. But what about in the future, when someone new joins the site, joins QP for the pretty pastels, has gore blocked, and suddenly, there on their screen, is this rabbit? no warning, just looking through a thread such as a guide thread or help thread, but one of the users there uses this villager as their active one, so they are suddenly seeing it?

Getting this sorted out NOW helps in the future because then there will be something in place for even MORE villagers like this one.

    • Aelys People are already blocking users because there's a specific CSS or specific villager that they don't like. It's not that hard to take 5 seconds if you see it pop up to block them. And yes, I am aware that there's a thread up about the rabbit and if you bothered to read it you'd see the majority of users are perfectly fine woth it and actually enjoy it's looks.

    • Jashin325 many of the people who don't like gore probably haven't because, news flash, THEY ARE LIMITED TO DMM VILLAGE. People who don't like gore don't go looking for it, and aren't likely to run across DMM monsters because, again, *they don't join that village*. Since there is a whole thread about the rabbit and I haven't seen anyone bring up the moth, I doubt that 'many people' feel the rabbit is scarier (and it also isn't a matter of 'scary' but rather of illness inducing gore). Also, the monsters are limited to the warrior career which not everyone uses.

Also, how are people supposed to block people who use it without seeing it? Not to mention why would I want to block someone I could potentially be friends with because our gore tolerance levels are different? There are many people who might like the rabbit that are perfectly nice people and why should they be blocked because their aesthetic can potentially make others sick?

There is a reason that for this festival I never even once thought of going to DMM, even if they did give a free village change like they did OFB. I dislike intense gore and as someone who did see the DMM monsters before the warrior career changed, I didn't like it. So I don't go looking for it and I don't join that village. Just as I don't like spiders, so I don't join DMM because spiders and 'scary' go together.

    • If you don't like it it's not that hard to block the users that have it.

    • Honestly have people SEEN the rest of dragon maw manor? Everything about it is horror and Gore. There is a monster that literally everyone can see and fight with GUTS having off it. It's even called the impailer for God's sake. It's stupid that you would have to waste a paintie ticket or 250 FD on something like this. If anything the moth is more scary then the rabbit to many people.

Some people are adept at getting the unreleased images and I believe some people were given a 'sneak' preview of it.

    • You can still find the plush's for this even the rabbit one.
the shop is still not open , i can only assume they are still working on the problems or with the zombie rabbit.

    • I am confused.. How were you able to obtain this zombie rabbit in the first place? For me the candy store/shop thingy is still closed.

    • The plush can still be found ? was the zombie rabbit changed or being change ?

I like a bit of gore but understand in how some might feel uncomfortable by it
