Zombie Rabbit Villager Concerns

Good evening everyone! It seems there is a bit of upset regarding one of our Dragonsmaw Manor Event villager colorations due to the gore factor. Unfortunately we are restricted by coding and will not be able to tag the colorations for those users that are not comfortable with this type of content.

But what I can do is offer an option to any user that wishes to own this coloration and also wants to be sure other users are still comfortable viewing their profiles and villagers!

We will create a thread, once the Magic Zombie Rabbit Plush is officially released, for users to request that their villager be "paintied". Users will provide a villager link to their Zombie Rabbits and I will go through, putting "Painties" onto the villager (the exact same image) so that the Gore tag can be added.

I hope that this will be helpful to all parties. Thank you for expressing your concerns and being patient with us.

EDIT: I am discussing options with some of my Mod team as we are reading your comments and seeing that the proposed solution may not work as we'd like it to. Once we have a solid hold on a final plan we will let you all know! Thanks again for being patient and working with us!

    • I like the idea someone else suggested of making this a paintie ticket thing rather than a magic plush, so it's guaranteed to be a paintie. But I feel like graphic, detailed gore like this is pushing the limits of what's considered PG13, and I'm surprised and uncomfortable at that being added as official art. Or does the PG13 rule only apply for sexual content? I know FV isn't as strict as FR on this, but this feels pretty extreme.

    • MariahKat they could compromise and have a more FV friendly zombie bun, but then offer a free paintie of the original bun (with the appropriate gore tag) to any users that preferred that. That way users would see a less shocking image by default, while still giving the users the original image if they want it?

The level of detail in this zombie is just so much higher than the other official gore standards of the site (chester's limbs, or even the DMM challengers are more stylized to avoid some of the major discomfort people are getting from the rabbit)

    • Hmmm..Why not have a toned down version as the default and have the gore version as a free paintie for people who want them as suggested with the original idea?

That way if people who block the gore version will see the default one instead.

    • Cykes Toning it down would just upset the people who already like it which just makes even more issues and complaining.

    • I know it's a little late but wouldn't it be easier just to redo the art to turn down the gore? Not completely remove it, just tone it down enough that people who don't like gore can overlook it and the people into gore still have a gore bunny.

    • I'm gonna go ahead and second the ideas for an automatic placeholder image that are floating around. The solution described in the news is a decent idea, but I doubt it's gonna cut it alone. A lot of people aren't gonna bother contacting you and if it's seen from default it's not really gonna make a difference. The people bothered by gore are still gonna see it. Hiding it automatically and then letting users who want the gore have it with the proper tag like all the other gore on site seems like a much better idea.

That said, thanks for listening to the concerns! Gore doesn't bother me, but it's good to know you're listening to these sorts of concerns.

    • MariahKat It would revert it back to the normal gore rabbit. Thats what some of us are worried about.. Cause blocking the image makes the base potion or plush you put on it viable. So it wouldn't do anything. Unless the gore rabbit could be put on and when it was blocked it showed the rabbit base the organelle one for the game...

    • Mat there may be a problem with that. You guys are going to have to put a place holder for the image until you've paintied it otherwise it's just going to show a zombie rabbit under it.

    • People are right, its very sweet of you mat!
but i think when a paintie is blocked and if you have gore blocked it would show the bottom base. bringing the gore rabbit back.... just like how we cant block a villager if they have it... So i think its good if we all figure this out now, since doing the paintie thing wouldnt do anything unless it showed a normal rabbit underneath.

    • Hey, thank you for thinking about this and being considerate.
I am not a huge fan of gore, but I am in no way bothered by it, so personally, I wouldn't mind. But i know there are people who are, which is fine.

But I thought that users could put the tags manually, and that everyone could go and block the words they wouldn't like seeing, so, in turn, blocking the painties with certain tags. I guess I was wrong, but nothign weird, since I didn't really upload much painties.
You can also do a similar thing like you did with the Oceandome event and Leodon. You released Leodon later, kinda as a surprise. So, maybe, you can hold off with the plush until you figure out an easier solution.

But yeah, do what you must, and keep doing an awesome job!
      Thank you for everything ^^
