Zombie Rabbit Villager Concerns

Good evening everyone! It seems there is a bit of upset regarding one of our Dragonsmaw Manor Event villager colorations due to the gore factor. Unfortunately we are restricted by coding and will not be able to tag the colorations for those users that are not comfortable with this type of content.

But what I can do is offer an option to any user that wishes to own this coloration and also wants to be sure other users are still comfortable viewing their profiles and villagers!

We will create a thread, once the Magic Zombie Rabbit Plush is officially released, for users to request that their villager be "paintied". Users will provide a villager link to their Zombie Rabbits and I will go through, putting "Painties" onto the villager (the exact same image) so that the Gore tag can be added.

I hope that this will be helpful to all parties. Thank you for expressing your concerns and being patient with us.

EDIT: I am discussing options with some of my Mod team as we are reading your comments and seeing that the proposed solution may not work as we'd like it to. Once we have a solid hold on a final plan we will let you all know! Thanks again for being patient and working with us!

    • my Pumpkin Seeds disapeared ;-;

    • Let me just say there is a HUGE difference between blocking an image that you just don't like and having to see an image that can give you NIGHTMARES or trigger even worse problems before you can block it. There is a reason that gore is usually one of the things that is singled out on many sites and in many games (ie some games have the ability to tone down the gore or change it). Seeing a political/religious image is far less likely to give someone a nightmare or make them literally sick than seeing a (from what has been described) roadkill looking animal. Furvilla itself even has a filter for gore, so there is literally no reason at all why people on this site should have to 'just suck it up and use adblock themselves'. (sorry, this really annoys me. Sure, adblock is great at blocking things that you simply don't want to see, but for things like this, especially for future users who *WON'T HAVE HEARD OF THE DRAMA* coming across something like this unexpectedly could be VERY troublesome.)

    • Ursaw yeah I agree with you but in this case, there's no reason why the gore bunny wasn't filed under the gore filter in the first place. The gore filter's supposed to prevent a user on this site from seeing gore. This one slipped through so it makes sense that they do something to fix the issue

    • On one side it's really nice of admins to tend to their audience and care about our concerns, but on the other... Have yall heard of blocking the images you don't like yourselves? At this point pretty much all and every browser has extensions like AdBlock that can help you hide the content you don't wanna see.
      Be responsible for your own internet experience. If something bothers you — there's almost always a way to distance yourself from it without delegating that responsibility on the others around you.
      Making everybody wait and make do, and giving admins even more work on top of what they do for us because you (as in general you) personally got a bit uncomfortable feels really immature to me tbh.

    • Zombies don't HAVE to be gorey. :) If you wanna do missing limbs, just have material like a sleeve or a trouser leg hiding the "bloody" bit. If people wanna make sure people know it's missing, maybe have a dirty looking bone bit sticking out from the fabric. Dirty as in has dirty or some very brown, off coloured dry blood on it that looks more like dirt. Teeth showing through a cheek hole doesn't seem too bad to me as long as the inside the mough colour is kinda black. If you wanna make things look more zombie-ish, keep the wrists and ankles flexed with the majority of the legs and arms stiff and straight. :) You don't need a gore warning tbh. I'm pretty squemish but there's no reason for gore on this cutesy site tbh. XD Pumpkin goring sure., XD lol But even that is pretty gross. XD lol

    • I must own this Zombie Rabbit!

    • MoonskarShade I agree. But going through the trouble of coding a tag/specific gore warning, or making a special paintie is not a much better option :/ I don't mind the image at all. I'm more than fine with gore art. I really hope Furvilla won't go through too much trouble just to please a few users who have a problem with it. Doesn't mean they don't have the right to not see it if they don't want to, but that is easily fixable by them blocking the image themselves. What ever the staff decides to do, I really hope it won't slow down the event even more.
      (And I have to add a disclaimer: I am not shitting on anyone or anything particularly. I just really wish people would try to moderate themselves instead of demanding everything be done for them. Especially on the internet.)

    • Thankyou! I personally love gore (as you can probably tell by some of my villagers - though I try my best to tw them on my page) but I'm glad that you're thinking of users that are sensitive to such content, whilst still allowing us that love the gory design to have the uncensored paintie. <3

      Which would require them to pay for a whole 'nother piece of art that would take even longer and not be able to be released for the Halloween event. I think it looks awesome, personally. That's like getting mad at a TV station because they aired a commercial for Walking Dead and someone was scared of zombies. Or a trailer for IT, and someone is disturbed by clowns. Like, I dont like clowns, but some people do. I'm not going to shit on whatever company is showing them because there's a market for it, even though I don't like it. I just move along. (not saying you're shitting on anything personally. Was pretty much talking in general)
