Hello everyone! I am excited to announce the beginning of our 2020 Quetzal Palace Serpent Festival!

The Serpent has landed on the mainland and is ready for your offerings. This ancient beast is one of the last remaining from the old times, before written history, before the villages came together in a global economy and named themselves, collectively, Furvilla. The Serpent is where the villagers of Quetzal Palace have made their town, and its constant movement allows them travel across the entire Furvillian continent!

As a special surprise, we've decided to run this year's festival for three weeks, instead of our usual two.

The festival begins today, March 23rd and will run until 11:59pm on April 13th. The Serpent will only accept offerings during this time frame.

The Gala Ball, where you may trade your serpent feathers for fabulous prizes, will open on March 30th and close on April 20th at 11:59pm.

Now, let's get on with the festivities!

Offerings to the Serpent

As in previous years, the Serpent demands tribute, and will provide feathers in exchange for the items it seeks. These feathers will be used as currency during the Gala Ball's prize shop when it opens next week. This year, the Serpent has several specific demands, which you may clearly see on its donation page.

DONATE HERE

To obtain items the Serpent seeks, you will be calling upon the assistance of the majority of your villagers, as most careers have something to contribute.

Special new recipes!

The below redeemable code will provide you with five new recipes.

Crafters, Alchemists, Tailors, Blacksmiths, and Cooks will craft the above recipes. Each time a recipe is crafted, a basic item is guaranteed to drop. Occasionally, a rarer (and more powerful) version of this item will drop as a bonus in addition to the base item. The Serpent will award more feathers for rarer items.

Don't be shy about donating these items to the Serpent during the festival! Your villagers may continue to craft the above items forever, but be advised the Serpent is picky and will not accept these items next year.

Want more recipes?

Should you find yourself in need of more recipes for the above items, your Explorers can help! While exploring, your villager will encounter a special explore event. In this event, you may meet some surprising versions of Quetzal Palace's rarest creatures. You may pick up an extra recipe or a special magical stone!

Need more materials for crafting?

Your Warriors may wish to help your cause by heading off to the Serpent Battlegrounds to spar with various elemental minions and the Serpent itself! This battleground will challenge your fiercest Warriors as well as provide you with extra crafting items needed to appease the Serpent.

The fluffiest of animals!

Villagers who know the Animal Husbandry career may contribute as well!

Below you will find a link for complimentary special cloud pets, which are able to breed quite often throughout the festival. The Serpent seems to be quite fond of rare and super rare versions of these cloud pets, so start breeding! These pets have a cooldown of 1 day.

    • So, basically first timers are gonna be handicapped here since you need at least 10 villagers to not change careers in the middle of crafting/gathering items
5 specific jobs + one Animal breeder + 2 explorers and 2 warriors!
I wonder if the doctors will shine in a future event?

    • I'm happy cause I'm attending this event from the start, finally and the art is awesome, But I'm crying because I've been trying to get enough scrap material for crystals... well. I'll do my best.

    • I really like these changes. If you favor one career over another you can still participate. :D Nice to not need 10 Explorers for an event.

    • Just glancing at the event it seems like a major grindfest. Give you gave no way to prepare for the event via saving items, I would have rather seen the event use new ingredients for the recipes. As it stands it just randomly rewards certain users that happen to have the ingredients while making it a drawn out, convoluted process for anyone else.

I am also so tired of seeing events locked behind warrior paywalls (need to have the right equipment). If you are going to require a warrior for the event to grind for ingredients, there needs to be a beginner warrior area that you can use basic cheap weapons in and it needs to drop the same ingredient in roughly the same amount as more advance ones (especially when the warrior levels don't mean anything since the only important aspect is having the right weapons).

Unless major tweaks are done I can't see myself participating as I'm not spending a bunch of money on warrior weapons just so I can try and grind for ingredients for the event.

    • Not to be a downer on this or anything, but this is kind of disappointing. I love the new item art, don’t get me wrong, but the fact that so much of this entails mass collecting and crafting of additional items really takes away the fun from this event. I’m glad at least they’re still accepting the cloudpets but aside from that it seems rather tedious.

Granted, I’m willing to try it out, so I’m not going to knock it until I try it, so to speak.. I do see and massively appreciate the fact that it’s not relying on just warriors or explorers, but I think it’ll need some careful balancing, so I’m nervous as that’s been something that always leaves something to be desired on FV. I’ll see how it goes and come back with any further recommendations; I really do appreciate staff listening to its user base a ton more than before.

    • Owner-Aspen Thank you Aspen! I wasn't sure it was like previous years where there was also a chance at equipment drops when you donated equipment. So I was was a little worried I'd have to craft a bunch everything haha.

    • Demongirl10 You don't have to donate every item to the Serpent, the list is just what it is accepting this year. So you may donate the items your villagers can produce. :)

      The only reward is feathers.

    • Shoot, I don't currently have villagers in any of these careers. Do you have to offer a variety of items to get different reward drops, or can I just keep giving the serpent the cake, sabre, and smoke items over and over again? (since I know some of my active's have cook, blacksmith, and alchemist as secondary career, but I don't think any of them have tailor or crafter and I don't want to delete a career they already known to make room.)

    • Super excited! <3 Everything this year is so gorgeous!
