Synth is a member of an advanced extraterrestrial species known as Electrines. They are a fairly recluse species, building their home far beneath the surface of the planet Aaliisio. Electrines are an unusual form of life that has evolved to work very similarly to the electronics here on earth. Though they may look familiar on the surface, a closer look will reveal that most of the Electrine's body consists of metals and an unusual plastic-like substance. Electrines must only eat the materials that they require to repair and maintain their internal structures, as most of their energy comes from electricity.
Synth is one of the rare few Electrines assigned to the job of exploring the universe beyond their planet. This has allowed him to develop his own, rather unconventional tastes in maintaining his appearance (see: mohawk) and a preference for the much more interesting world beyond his planet of origin.
