The house had been at the end of a long dirt path surrounded by trees, it was a bit of an off path from the rest of the area. Though the house didn't look to be in bad shape, it was covered in vines and some paint was peeling which made it clear it wasn't' being taken care of well. Not surprisingly, the house was painted black. It didn't look very inviting. If one looked closely, it would be seen there's a few unknown bones and scales laying around. And the door of the house was much taller than a normal door.
Shortly after Lexi had knocked, the sound of light and rapid footsteps could be heard approaching, and the door was slowly opened just enough for a pair of bright blue reflective eyes to peer out through the gap. The larger blue eyes suddenly were joined by four smaller ones that opened. The door then slammed shut and whoever it was could be heard skittering off across the house.
Much louder steps could be heard approaching now, and this time Zatarin opened the door completely. A faint lavender smell drifted out of the house, and the hallway behind Zatarin at the entrance was very dark. "Do you need something?" Zatarin questioned as he stared at Lexi. "I don't want to buy anythi...Oh, wait, I know you." Zatarin scratched at his side before crossing his arms. "But still, what do you want?"
A loud sound comes from inside Vendy's case all before something drops into into it's dispenser. "Get!" A high pitched female voice called when the object had dropped much like one you would hear in a JRPG gatcha.
Reaching down Vendy then picked up the item that had been ordered. "Your diet soda is ready." It said simply while holding the item out.
Zatarin stared silently for a few moments before deciding to state his name as well. "I'm Zatarin, but no need to remember that, because I likely won't remember you later." He said that in a serious tone. He really does forget most people, he might as well be honest. Though he doesn't mean to forget people. "If i see him again, I'll try to remember to discourage him with a swift kick." Zatarin tried to maintain a serious tone, but he started to crack up. This caused him to cover his mouth and make a few fake coughs to stop himself.
"Late?" Zatarin lowered his paw and looked around, then looked back to Lexi. "But the night is just beginning! I...I only woke up a couple hours ago., to be honest. You, however, I assume you best get moving before something unpleasant shows up. I'm more concerned if you can handle yourself, I'll be perfectly fine." Zatarin did the finger guns thing at Lexi, followed by a smirk. "Though, that deer boy might scare you more than any monsters can. Headaches are quite dreadful, after all!"
Zatarin's ears folded back when the badger approached. He wondered to himself if he had been listening in or not. He opened his mouth to ask Killian if he planned to respond anytime soon, but before he could speak another word the badger had sent Killian away and Zatrain snapped his mouth shut as if biting air.
"That wasn't needed...Stranger." Zatarin stepped closer to Lexi and leaned in ever so slightly, but still keeping a good bit away. "I'll be fine, words mean nothing and his poking was weak. Who are you? Were you spying on me- Or him?... Never mind that." Zatarin forced a grin. His breathing was loud enough one could hear it, it was hard to tell if he sounded out of breath or if that was normal. "I'm likely more of a pain in the ass than he is, but who knows? You're not going to get on to me next, right? I was just passing through. Didn't know anyone was even around here..." Zatarin trailed off and moved back away. He seemed somewhat cautious of Lexi for some unstated reason.
