An existence embroidered in gold and pearls

A silver spoon never far from his person

A life of the lavish

A life of the lonely

A type of strange other, not truly one thing or another

As vicious and as venomous as a cobra

As hungry as one too

But with the heart of an angel

Whose wings were too broken to ever truly fly

Bound and imprisoned in preparation to truly be free

Tasting the sky only for a moment

Before he came crashing down

In a grave of his own making

When he gave someone too much trust

But could not help but betray theirs

Like a story of star crossed lovers

Never truly destined to meet, but to pass fleeting

While great pools of celestial bodies stood in their way

Of ever truly finding happiness

And so the thing his heart truly craved

The only friend he'd ever known

Was the one who took it from him

And took his breath away

With a bite to his throat

And his beating heart ripped from his chest
