The world around Deerfield is no stranger to demonic beings known as jailers; they are sulfur-based creatures created by strong emotions or feelings. The thing that lies beneath pulses its soul into the planet, giving everything a soul- the core of their emotions, personality, genetic information, and more...this is why strong emotion not only alters the soul but also alters the being. Judas is a jailer born of negative emotions.
Able to smell flesh and blood from hundreds of miles away, the ability to move with ethereal silence, shapeshifting, able to mimic human speech and sounds, a crushing biteforce of 60,000 lbf, and an insatiable bloodlust with an overpowering and constant hunger- by nature and design, Judas is made to be a merciless killing machine. Behind the jaws of absolute terror, however, is a more troubled person. Raised as if a normal child in rural Texas, Judas was carefully brought up

No amount of scolding, educating, or willpower could ever get younger Judas to not maim animals on impulse, to not snap his jaws down on the arms of classmates when frightened. Not even Judas wanted to be doing these things. He knows these actions are not right; but every inch of his willpower was always overpowered by fear and sheer instinct. So, it was agreed that what Judas needed was a kick in the teeth.
Dociled now by age, a debilitating self-inflicted wound on his chest, and severe regret- Judas has left all the cattle eating and (most) of the frightful jaw snapping in his past. When he can help it, he is very gentle. With the personality of an energetic golden retriever, he is trusting and naïve. Very much a nervous soul, Judas is scared of most things and often comes up with worrisome scenarios to stress over. Judas loves to chew on things, chase his own tail, or read- he has a PhD in linguistics.
Here in Deerfield, Judas owns and operates Palos Park, a butcher shop he has been running for nearly twenty years now. He's been married to his wife, Moira, for around the same amount of time- together they have a young daughter they've adopted, her name is Kayda. Judas actually started working as young as eleven, his first jobs were being a farmhand. Judas is a hardworking soul.
