Villager: Sindiri Honeywing

Griffins take pride in their bloodlines and appearances--regalia, strength, and plumage are all held important above all else. Lineages written by claw and fang date back many, many years for the more pure-blooded, why, the proudest griffins of all, the eagles, have caves and tombs bearing all of their ancestors. A few outliers do muddy the gene pool, but most mixes are usually by marriage or strength, such as falcons and even hawks. But when Sindiri was born, it threw everything out of proportion and sent the most wisest griffins scuttling through the archives trying to find out exactly what the fuck happened.

You see... Sindiri's parents are kind of top notch in the griffin world-they both come from proud griffin bloodlines, two different eagles that have never bred, in a way to form an alliance over the north and south halves of the isle they resided on. Their bloodlines could be traced on the very stones of the islands, and once Sin's egg hatched--every rock was scoured from each lineage, the mother questioned brutally of her virtue until they found the links.

Some centuries ago, Sin's mother's bloodline had one ancestor of an extinct race of griffin--and centuries earlier, his father too, carried that bloodline.

It was very, very recessive, a minuscule chance of it occurring that it was overlooked and forgotten--but chance as it were, the not-so-proud eagles were the not-so-proud parents of....a pygmy hummingbird griffin.

The egg had been tiny, yes, his mother had thought it a miscarriage, but in the hot summer at the corner of the nest it remained incubated until he came through--and my, what a shock he had been to the parents...not to mention, the community.

Poor Sindiri, unloved by his parents, their family alliance strained because their oddity of a son, who was so tiny many mistook him as a meal (thankfully he was fast enough to dodge beak and claw from young and old griffin alike). Even when they knew who he was, they would pick on him, and he began to lash out in response. He knew very early on that he was different, and when he overheard his parents arguing about him in regards to a strained alliance, he decided to leave the isles to find somewhere else to belong.

Griffins kept to themselves, and it took convincing of some osprey to take him away from their comfort zones and fly him to the nearest continent (after all, his tiny ass wings couldn't do the trick), and when they took him to Furvilla....My, he was surprised! With bland weed nectar back at home, the delicacies of all sorts of flora enticed him to stay.
