Hey there my busy little beta bees! I've come around again with a couple little news announcements for you so please bear with me.

Costume Changes

First up we have some exciting news about Costumes, they will no longer be restricted to the original 6 species! Costumes can now be applied to any of the common species on site so everyone can enjoy the Career Buffs that come along with applying a costume to your Villager. While most species do not have images available now, they may at some point in the future. So if an image becomes available for the species/costume combo on your Villager you will be allowed to convert to that image if you like. You will just need to contact [email protected] with the request.

Paintie Rule Revamp

Second bit of news is that we have made a few tweaks to the Paintie rules to prepare for the site to open and to reflect the change I was just talking about above. Please be sure to do a thorough read through and get familiar with the changes we've made! I know that it's a lot to look through but we appreciate you all taking the time to work with us on this so we can help you keep creating and collecting all those amazing Painties.

Highlights

-Costumed Villagers can now use any (non-limited) base that is available for the species.
-Costume base pieces may be used on any species as long as the Villager has that costume applied.
-Human traits on Painties are now judged with a numeric threshold.
-Prohibited content has been edited to reflect language standards currently being used for the forums and a Profanity tag has been added for those that wish to block these types of Painties.
-The use of downloaded brushes is allowed but proof must be provided that they can be used for commercial purposes.

**the full wording for these rules can be found on the Paintie Rules page**

Thank you for reading and we hope that you all will be happy with the changes we've made!

    • I don't know how to do the pinging thing, so... /shrug, but, while I respect the mechanic behind it, I don't really understand why, now that we have the option to keep the current image or go to the costume one (which doesn't exist anyways, for most species), we can't keep the current paintie on our pets and have to resubmit it. I got my paintie for Tierdra before I even knew what costumes were , and I feel she could use one to help her effectiveness, but it seems a little silly to have to resubmit her paintie to get a costume put on. Maybe that's just me.

Is something like that going to be considered in the future, or do we know yet?

    • @Admin-Deinmaar
      That's alright!
      Figured I'd double check.
I went ahead and just went with some species that don't have costume art yet c':
Thanks for finding out for me!

I was mistaken then. My apologies

    • Pip That is not currently an option.

Rurat Coding is currently still the same as it was before, costumes will wipe Painties and you would have to put the Paintie onto the Villager again for the full price.

    • @Admin-Mateusz
Would you mind taking a look at the last two questions here? Hoping you might be able to shed some better light on the situation than I can =)

    • I have a question. I know that, previously, adding a costume onto a pet would wipe the paintie out. Now that you can costume any pet with or without the costume, does this still wipe out the paintie? Additionally, I was curious if, in that situation, since we have the choice, would we be able to choose to keep the paintie on the pet, or would we really have to re-pay for it? I haven't seen either of these questions answered anywhre yet, and I actually had to hunt for the whole 'costumes overwrite painties' thing, and then got that from a friend. I'd love to see these answers put into the paintie info page

    • @Admin-Deinmaar
Maybe I misread but I think you said we should have an option now, when applying a costume to a species that actually has the art for it, to select for the costume not to apply the art?
For example I want a cat villager with the costume, but I don't want to use the costume art.
How do I go about doing this?

    • @Admin-Mateusz Ahh thanks! I guess my brain centered on the wrong rule and got me confused.

We never once said that we're flat out NEVER adding costumes to rares. All we said was that it's not being discussed right now. Saying that we currently don't have a plan for it and saying that we never plan to have it are two completely different statements.
