New Species and More

Greetings, villagers! Furvilla has been joined by a new species: the Shifty! This is a new rare species that can be crafted out of Tigereye Peak, and brings with it a large change to the Paintie System. Because canonically the Shifty can mimic the appearance of anything it sees, Painties for the Shifty have a large range of artist freedom and do not require the use of a Furvilla base.

The full rules for the Shifty can be read by visiting the Paintie Rules page.

We have released Morphing Potions for the entirety of species available on Furvilla. The recipes for these potions are stocking in their respective village shops, as all potions have been split up among the villages In addition, an option has been added to the Potions Shop of your village that permits you to pay the shopkeeper to obtain a specific result out of a species potion. For those of you who have been asking for a way around the randomness of a potion, especially as we release new colors for our species, this should definitely help!

In addition, some Paintie Rules have been clarified or amended by the Paintie Admins:

- Rule 1 Amendment: When creating a Paintie for a costume, the Paintie must match the base of the costume.
- Rule 2 Amendment: Species changes allowed on a Furvilla base involve subgroups of animals that are similar to each other, such as deer and goats.
- Rule 2 Amendment (2): Masks are permitted as a head edit.
- Rule 3 Amendment: Players are allowed to use base artwork of Costumes that match the Costume they are designing a Paintie for. For instance, when designing an Aquatic Wolf, players are permitted to use body parts from other Aquatic Costumes, provided they are not a costume for a rare species (which does not exist yet).
- Rule 6 Amendment: Rule Six was changed to "Painties May Not Include Prohibited Content" and also clarify that our rules regarding alcohol and drug use apply to Painties as well.
- Rule 6 Amendment (2): Indicates that the Paintie Team reserves the right to reject a Paintie for sexual content even if the specific item is not listed, if the Paintie comes off as sexual.
- Rule 8 Amendment: Players may shrink the base slightly to accommodate edits to the head area of the base, provided that the base is not made smaller than 3/4ths its original size.

Last among the major changes is that we have uncapped the ability to create villagers, though the Villagers page has a steep cost to adding additional villagers. We know that you have wanted to add additional characters to your accounts and hope that this change gives you the freedom to do so, while also providing a good sink for FurCash. We are currently working on capping all careers to a reasonable level so that the unlimited villagers option does not have a detrimental effect on the economy.

Have a great day!

    • I feel like some of these changes are the result of very few, albeit vocal users saying that they want everything to be a certain way. Everybody has brought up certain thing such as the fact that with explorers you are already capping the amount of resources in the game and more pets=more resources being used. I can maybe see capping warrior but at the same time it takes a large amount of loot to make costumes and craftables. Alot of this stuff most likely would end up evening out once markets change. It hasn't even been 24 hours since you added the change and everybody has already decided its destroying the economy. You already have herbalists limited by the amount of pots they can have to also limiting how much they can harvest seems wierd.

    • I really like the concept shiftys, but I agree that it feels awfully unfair for them to be tied to one village! I foresee a lot of people moving to tigereye peak and potentially breaking the economy.

Maybe you could make a recipe for the shifty's potion for each village, that way there's a method of obtaining one for each village?

    • Shifties are awesome, but... I definitely think that it should not be confined to one village, especially because of how desirable they are compared to literally every other species of villager including the other rare potion ones, and how the materials to make it are going to shoot up in price so much that people outside Tigereye Peak will likely never be able to make it themselves. It literally gives you unlimited creative freedom with your painties, something nothing else on the site can do... that seems like a little bit too much for a village-specific species.

I think that it'd probably be best if the recipe was available in every village, but also needed materials from every village to make. That way, it'd be possible for everyone to have a chance to get it, it'd still incredibly challenging to make (which is definitely something I would expect from an in-game item that gives you literally the power to literally do whatever you want with a paintie), and Tigereye Peak could have its own special potion species that matches its theme.

      Just my two cents haha.

    • I really could care less about the shifties. I'm more upset about the herbalist cap! We already have a limit on exploring,M which limits how many seeds we can get. And we have a limit on pots, which is 100. Then if you run out and want to buy more seeds, it's expensive. And then on top of ALL that we now have a harvest limit of 200 per hour?!?! I'm very annoyed at this. Herbs are already heavily regulated we didn't need this on top.... I understand if it's per villager but not per account. Very upset over this and hope it gets changed.

    • I don't know... By capping each job respectively, you basically tell your players how much of what can they have, which means that there's basically a single villager system that's simply the best one - the one where you reach the cap of each job.

With villager count capped (or count of villagers with any careers capped, the rest would be jobless), you make such a system unreachable. The player can get more creative with his job choices and finding what fits him. And there would be no "100% players" who'd ruin the game for these players.

      Any thoughts?

    • @ADMIN-Furvilla
Are you still allowed to keep old painties on villagers, submitted before you put a costume onto them?
And if yes, can you speculate in this, and submit a new paintie to a villager, before you upload a costume onto them?

    • The Shifty is great but I have to agree that it seems a little unfair that potentially the most versatile species is village locked. I think it would make sense if all villages could make it and the resources could be similar to those need for the Wickerbeast/Dutch AD/Manokit but perhaps use double the ingredients instead?

    • Ahh this update makes me happy! I'm looking forward to see what people do with shifties and looks like I'll be able to bring my "real" sona over here after all!
Although I do agree that it'd be nice if it was offered to all villages but I'm just happy this is thing to begin with tbh, since I'm not sure bugs like spiders will ever be a thing here X3

    • Ok changes, but giving the Shifty to a single Village is a bad idea.

Please make the recipe availble for all villages, but use plants from all 5 villages as well.
Or make it available in the FurDollar shop only.

    • The Shifties are a great idea in concept but I have to agree with everyone else... making it only available to one village although it is the most versatile species and clearly "better" than the other rare species seems kind of really unfair??
