Sounds like poor business practice if they are forgetting their own rules or having to update them way after the fact :T hmm

I'd also like to add that some characters & OCs will just happen to have features from special species, possibly designed even before they knew about this site. They may not even necessarily be ripping it from another species. With alll things, the site should be transparent and clarify this, so at least going forward from the Beta, there won't be problems.

I wish there was some sort of way to suggest the concept of 'grandfathering in' without coming off as bossy towards the paintie mods but, I feel like this is the exact sort of situation that would benefit from that. Regardless of if anyone agrees or disagrees with features from rare species being added with painties, it was not stated in the rules, and it isn't very fair to pull a paintie after it was approved like this. It would save a lot of grief if they left the painties that have already been accepted alone by grandfathering them in, and then starting fresh with a new set of rules. Pulling pre-accepted painties like this is not a good move, it has all the users afraid that their painties are going to get pulled now after working hard and getting attached to them.

I don't agree why it's been taken down. I understand what they're getting at and it would be ok if they mention it in the rules that you can't cut and paste parts from other base, but I think people do this for ease of matching the style. In the end, according to the rules you can change the tail and add horns and wings and whatever you want as long as it is still the specie. But they don't want you to copy and paste the "special art". If they wanna make this a rule, I think it's OK but they should grandfather in the painties that were made before this was a rule because people didn't know and lost their money and hard work :/

Oh yeah, Last thing before I forget. If splicing parts from the Dutch AD (or other "rare" species) is against the rules. Why did the staff accept and approve her skins, and other people's skins whom are doing the same thing? Hmm c:

Friend of Peri's here. I think this is absolutely unfair and ridiculous. I could understand it if it was more than 50% dutch ad. But it's just the tail and horns. Which, I am sorry but are not uh.. unique to just the dutch angel dragon. Other species have wings and horns. Not to mention, as Peri already said, it's extremely easy to obtain dutch ad potions. Whether you brew it yourself or purchase it. It isn't "rare" imo. I have made several so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, the fact that they are suddenly shoehorning this rule in is unfair. It's not mentioned in the rules, and if this was something they didn't want from the get go they should have had it included in the very beginning so people didn't waste their time like my poor friend did. The skins she made were very pretty and I'm extremely disappointed in furvilla.
