I am actually VERY proud for you that you got Minty accepted. That made me feel so bad when I saw that it was denied. Especially with a humanoid-looking character being accepted. Anyway great job here and what a LOVELY character. <3 So happy for you.

Weisk also just to add (since I forgot this part and you cant edit comments) I don't mean the twitter announcement forever ago that there'd be changes to the rules. I mean the announcement about the actual rule changes that they posted yesterday or so. Just to clarify that really quick..

Xen I completely and utterly agree. One of the things that I have a problem with is the fact that... I have an OC who has horns exactly like the horns the Wickerbeast has. The kind that sorta curve around the ears. And she had horns like that before I even knew Wickerbeasts were a thing, let alone a species on this site. If I were to make her a villager, and a paintie for her, my only option would be to paste the horns from the Wickerbeast, because there are some people who are not really that artistically gifted, in the sense that some people have issues with actually making their own additions, when it is much easier to just use something that's already been made.

Weisk I can't really say much for everyone else, but for me personally, my biggest issue has been the fact that they started doing all this well before they even gave the announcement about the rule changes. They should have done it FIRST before going around and suddenly taking down all the painties that were breaking this, at the time, nonexistent rule. It's the fact that there was absolutely no communication on their part. They didn't say anything, and instead starting acting.

im pretty sure it was removed bc it had the DAD horns and tails edited on it from the DAD base which means that you can have a tail like that on your paintie just not copy and pasted from the bases???

What I find incredibly stupid about this rule is the fact that there are about 100x other species that have horns, tufted tails, wings, ect. And for paintie makers and people who wish to comission painties, it's a lot less time consuming and cheaper to just take the tail/horns off another base, rather than have to make something entirely new. Them putting this rule in place is the equivalent of them saying that these are the only species that have these traits, when this is not the case at all. I made one of my ocs well over 9 years ago, and he has always had a tail very similar to the DAD base, before I even heard of this species. It seems like an incredibly stupid rule that should be taken on a more case by case basis, rather than just outright denying anything that has a feature taken from one of these bases. I could understand if something did it to purposefully try to make the character look like one of these species, as a way to get around the work of obtaining the items to actually make them. But most people just use 1 or 2 features because THAT'S JUST HOW THEIR OC LOOKS.

What's more discouraging, and disappointing, is how people are reacting to this. It's a bit ridiculous, honestly. This site is so new and I have to imagine that they simply didn't think of certain things popping up, and needing to make rules regarding them. This #riot stuff if so annoying and I can understand people being upset or annoyed but I really feel like the majority of people are just acting like children about this. When someone makes a point to say "oh I'm going to leave and go back to x website", I have trouble taking you seriously. As someone who has worked in customer service (in collections in particular), I've heard that shit so many times. It comes across less like you're willing to compromise and solve the problem, and more like you just want your way and you're going to say whatever you can to get your way. Really disappointing to see so many members of the community are going to act like this. "Cherish it while you can" really now. The mods mess up once and it's like everyone loses their shit and jumps at their throat without even trying to be civil.
