[t]In a far off place, a massive ocean spans throughout the cave. Around it are various kingdoms, and numerous islands and cultures with yet, there is one region that takes matters very, very seriously. This is the land Solitude was born from, raised by, molded at the hands of the ruling body and the hands of the men in his family. He grew up knowing nothing of the world other than law and order and an absolute adherence to them. It was his mission and was all that mattered in life.

He earned a reputation in the academy for getting those that would rival him expelled. Everything he ever did was completely legal, however, and nothing could be done to stop him. Speeding through school, he quickly became the youngest Captain in the fleet at age 15. Solitude took over his family's ship, The Gilded Heart, after arresting his father for treason; assisting and abetting a pirate. The youthful captain swore to never be as foolish as his mentor as he watched him hang from the gallows. No tears we shed; in his mind, his father earned his fate. That's what happened when you broke the rules.

Now later on in life, he has taken up the rank of Vice Admiral of the entire Royal Armada. At least 20 ships are under his command. He sails to sea in the name of his country, purging the waves and winds of the scourge that sail them; pirates. There is no gray area with him. Everything is in black and white. You break a law, you hang. That is how it works. There's also a rumor circulating around that one of his ships works as a maritime courthouse, complete with an neutral judge and a jury made from volunteers from different ports. [/spoiler]

[ul][li]Lit was never forced to do anything he didn't want to do growing up.
(He just observed what he thought was the law, what was 'right' and followed suit.)[/li]
[li]Other than predictable 'piracy,' a specific pirate has never done him a personal wrong.
(He's just lived his life 'knowing' piracy was wrong. Ergo, if you're a pirate, you are a criminal and it's his job to end you.)[/li]
[li]There is no time for romance.
(Shh... of course there is. He can be wrong sometimes. Just... don't tell him that.)[/li]
[li]His character is modeled after Javert from Les Miserables.
(Meaning, he could totally have an epiphany that completely breaks his world view and take it very, very badly. What??? Not all pirates are evil??? *ded* )[/li]
