Villager: Kaiko

A morphing potion gone wrong resulted in this overly happy moth with the attention span and memory of a goldfish. Kaiko gets excited about every little thing and that over and over, given how five minutes later she will probably have forgotten about it again. If you want her to remember you, you might have to introduce yourself three or four times before she will start to recall that she met you before.

"Kaiko" literally means "silk moth"; as she has lost all her memories of her life prior to the morphing potion along with most of her sanity, she had to get a new name and it seemed fitting to those who named her, especially since she's acting so instinct-based.

Kaiko is very clingy, especially towards lightsources and people. If you don't want an overexcited moth hanging on you the whole day, though, it's pretty easy to distract her - she has understood from hearing it often enough that she has lost her sanity, but doesn't really understand what it means and thinks it's an object she just has to find again. Simply pointing her towards a place and asking her if she has looked for it there will have her excitedly run off to do just that (unless she forgets what she wanted to do before she arrives at her destination or gets distracted by something else).

Despite how sad her existence must seem to saner villagers, Kaiko's life is not a horrible one since she's as happy as they come and nothing ever seems to upset her for longer than a few seconds. Just keep her away from big lights she could smack against, please.
