Map Exploit

Maps have temporarily been disabled due to information about an existing exploit becoming public. They'll be enabled again once this issue has been resolved.
Maps are no longer marked as maps, but any maps you craft or had previously will still exist within your inventory. There is currently no estimated time for a fix.
Unfortunately, we have to take a harsh stance when it comes to intentional exploiting of mechanics like this. Thank you to people who reported the issue and simply moved on. People who may have accidentally used the exploit or otherwise simply done it once or twice out of curiosity need not worry, however. We'll be investigating on case-by-case basis. If you suspect another player of cheating, please report them using the standard report feature.
Update: You can no longer add plunder to your hoard from your inventory. You can still use the convert-all function.
I didnt realize what this exploit was until i read this and now i am freaking out afraid that i used it without noticing... yea i am one of those blind click people, but i know i glitched out and lost atleast 3 maps- and plunder points during conversion as well... though i didnt think it was a huge deal... i hope that i see you all after ths is figured out :(
I hope they can find the bug(s) in the coding and fix it. This is pretty common with these events, but they're a lot of fun. Best wishes to staff for their hard work.
Gosuto That's a relief, thanks for answering! Let's hope this fix won't take long. Funny how this had to happen when I just discovered yesterday that certain maps gives you items for plunder points. I initially thought you could only obtain items for plunder through the collect treasure feature which is unbearable since I don't have time to collect every 2 hours.
moonlightfox You can make maps but you just can't use them.
I am so confused! Are we allowed to make maps at least? Cause I really need to gather plunder points I currently only have about 70 points lol.....
My one issue with all of this has been the idea that if it is takes too long, it will in effect punish those who haven't fully upgraded their ships because they will be getting less treasure every two hours and no way to upgrade.
Taki_Wolf I understand your pain perfectly, I need *three* special sail fabrics and my boat will be fully upgraded, Sadly those are one of the hardest things to get.
People need to understand that things happen and while the event is fun as I stated before things happen. Things happen that nobody can foresee and hey that's just how life is. We all need to just bunker down and wait this out and stick together and hope for the best.
Stick together guys and deal with things as they come and adjust because really that's all we can do. I would also like to take a moment to thank the entire staff of the site for all the work you guys do even in these bumpy unsure times.

nobody is punishing you for anything. The event is HALTED, not cut in time. JFC why is everyone whining so much.
I don't think an extension is going to help now. Better to just give non cheaters X amount of PP in my opinion
Update - looks like it WAS about the bug I posted about. Thank you SOOOO much to people who read about it and decided to abuse it even knowing it was a bug. I hope you're happy knowing you may have ruined the event for everyone.
