Incoming Sales Tax

Furvilla is in the process of implementing a FurCash sales tax for the user shops. When a player sells an item to another player for FurCash, a sales tax of 5% will be removed from the purchase price, and the remainder will be deposited into the shop till as normal. The goal of this addition is to help sink small amounts of FurCash and ensure the strength of the currency. When calculating the tax, it will be 5% of the total, rounded down, with a minimum of 1 FurCash.

This change will be implemented in forty-eight hours or at 2:00 AM Furvilla Time on August 17th, so please be sure to alter your item prices if desired before that deadline.

In addition, the Moth Morphing Potion has been released into Olde Foxbury, and three new species colors are released -- Culpeo Fox, Long Eared Owl, and Osprey Raptor. We have also completed construction of the Trades page, which allows players to trade villagers, items, and currency freely. The link to the Trades page is located on the Town Hall.

    • please Rethink the taxes as it's only going to make Inflation worse as prices will Raise to accomidate for the change. we need right now are thinsg like Changes to better Warriors than we need this hole in teh head (Taxes)

    • ...if more people are going to use sell-back to avoid taxes, it'll help lower supply while the demand is the same, so this actually seems helpful after reading the comments here.
I've always been a physical item trade advocate, hopefully it'll be a little easier to trade with people avoiding tax, too... wonder how much more expensive I'll need to make my DTSs...

    • Not happy with the news. I dislike sale taxes on virtual currency, especially on something as basic as the personal shops ( as opposed to auctions, for example ). I don't understand why you can trade freely, but shops are penalized. Is it that you don't like me being all reclusive and antisocial?. xD
But seriously, it's discouraging and takes the fun out of things. Many things are already under-priced and still not selling.

    • A tax is exactly what we needed!
This is one of the best ways to remove a currency from circulation and prevent inflation.
And to those who don't like this feature just add 5% value to your items.

    • ...will the stall tell you how much the 5% tax is when you put up an item like flight rising does? I'm really bad at maths and don't want to break out my calculator every time...

    • Also, for everyone complaining about the taxes, just use this: http://www.percentagecalculator.net/
If you use the first one and punch in 95 for the percentage and your price for the number it's of, you'll see how much you're still making, or you can edit your price so you still make the same amount you were making. 5% is really not that big of a deal, even at 5,000 it only brings it down to 4,750, which is only a 250fc deduction. When it comes to costumes selling at 200k you'd still be getting 190k for the costume, which is honestly very reasonable despite the fact that it's a 10k deduction. If you still want to make 200k for the costume, just sell it for 220k and you'll be getting 209k for it, 9k more than you would without the taxes (gods bless FV for giving me an excuse to do math)

    • Erg, bit disappointed about math being brought into the loop. It's a petsite, not the real world, I feel like there could be a more creative way to make FC sinks instead of this.

    • haha i guess im not using my stall anymore, dont really think this is the best way to try and curb the economic issues, i agree with other users who have posted saying that it might be more beneficial to wait until more people are using the site. i personally will be trading items for items or simply using the sell-back feature

    • Can you add a thing on the site where we can see the new colors without having to make a new villager?

    • no daddy
