Furvilla is in the process of implementing a FurCash sales tax for the user shops. When a player sells an item to another player for FurCash, a sales tax of 5% will be removed from the purchase price, and the remainder will be deposited into the shop till as normal. The goal of this addition is to help sink small amounts of FurCash and ensure the strength of the currency. When calculating the tax, it will be 5% of the total, rounded down, with a minimum of 1 FurCash.

This change will be implemented in forty-eight hours or at 2:00 AM Furvilla Time on August 17th, so please be sure to alter your item prices if desired before that deadline.

In addition, the Moth Morphing Potion has been released into Olde Foxbury, and three new species colors are released -- Culpeo Fox, Long Eared Owl, and Osprey Raptor. We have also completed construction of the Trades page, which allows players to trade villagers, items, and currency freely. The link to the Trades page is located on the Town Hall.

    • It makes sense since the setting is a village therefore taxes are bound to be implemented. Also, thank you, for trade system. It is much needed.

    • i think this is a good idea tbh

    • Well this wouldn't be the only site with a sales tax so I can't see what everyone is so upset about other than the fact it's not really needed. What we need are other changes that are better than a tax lol. The tax won't be bad though. Anyone who's played Sylestia is used to being taxed. It's just not a feature that was nessecary as much as other features that need to be worked on or created at the moment

    • Man this is going to hurt when I try to sell my 7000 FC QP houses...

    • Honestly I can't agree with sales tax. Money sinks don't go anywhere except out of the seller AND buyer's pockets. Why should you be paying that 5% of something, that doesn't even exist. Not to mention the currency transfer system isn't always working properly, to the point of, you have to put something up in your shop to get that currency,

    • Thank you for the trades page!

    • @ mythic I can't agree more

    • I can't say I agree with adding the tax feature right now. There's other things that need added more, as others here have pointed out. Plus a registration window could help.

    • I mean I guess I don't really mind the tax thing...I don't really see why it's needed but I don't mind it. I would have just preferred implementing a minimum and maximum sell price for items before a tax came into play....it would be a lot more helpful. But whatever

    • I kinda feel like more important than a tax would have been to set base prices for selling items in your shop. Like, there's a whole thread called "fixing the economy" on the forums about this - people are selling crafted items for less that they would get back by merely selling the ingredients back to the system, which I think needs to be addressed more than a tax system. I've never seen a site like this implement taxes. That's a little weird to say the least.

Even if we are going to stick with the tax thing, setting a base price that you can't go below when selling in your stall would be a much bigger help for "ensuring the strength of the currency".
