You'd probably have to give her a more humanlike form, as right now she's too close to the look of the astronauts from the game even with the gradient color palette and stuff. I'm going to ask later today if this version of Sniffles would pass, but I'm not sure because of his mini crew mates. (Slight content warning for a bit of body horror in that pic.)
And yeah, these kinds of painties are a bit of a hit or miss because like… Certain things pass while others don't and sometimes it's hard to tell why something was accepted while another thing was denied. Baby Yoda, if I'm not mistaken (I haven't seen The Mandalorian so I'm very loosely waving hands here), is a singular character rather than part of a species. And recoloring isn't enough of a change to make the character pass, especially when the paintie (and character) were also presented with the "Baby Yoda" tags. But then, at the same time, species like Pokemon are individually copyrighted as well, so you can't upload pokemon OC painties either, even with changes. A few people have tried, but they've always been taken down. I have seen some gemsonas uploaded, so long as they weren't drawn in the SU style and were changed to be more furry and whatnot. So it's really just a matter of what kind of species/designs are copyright and what isn't. I've gotten some backlash from people for my triangle FH paintie and Carmine and Verde because of Gravity Falls, but there's no copyrighted triangle species from the series, and none of the designs are direct copies of Bill Cipher so staff has deemed them acceptable. (And it's not like the staff is unaware of who I am and what my interests are, so they'd definitely know if I was actually trying to skirt around the rules and upload an illegal paintie, and I'd get slapped with a paintie rejection for it lmao.)
When in doubt, before I upload, I always reach out to staff first to see if something I want to upload would be accepted. If it isn't acceptable, I don't bother to pursue it or change it to BE acceptable. But, I banked on FH's Among Us paintie being different enough to pass this time, and tossed it into the queue without reaching out first, so I wasn't sure if it actually would get accepted or not.
Worst case scenario, ask in the paintie check thread whether or not Sunny would be allowed as-is. The worst that can happen is staff says no.
