this boy is actually a demon who was formerly a fox, but has since lost all recollection of how he appeared. his coat color changes as he attempts to blend in around new individuals, hoping others might not catch on. the skull is his true demon form.
usually he doesn't quite get the hang of natural fox colored pelts, so his fur coat is either an extremely rare variety of color found on a fox, or one that simply doesn't exist.
