Fairfay's very special treasure!
The statue of a large beast, not quite flora, not quite fauna, looms in the center. Ivy and moss is growing on it.
You feel an indescriable feeling gazing upon this statue, feelings of nervousness and excitement. Intense joy, and humility. Peace, yet the slightest amount of fear. You feel sleepy, yet energized. It makes your head spin a bit.
A passerby seems to notice and approach you.
"I see you've noticed the shrine to our guardian. A lot of visitors don't usually make it this far, but I am sure it appreciates the company."
Noticing your confusion, she clears her throat and begins speaking again.
"This is the great guardian of Fairfay. Our founder was not the first creature here, after all. We suppose this was his home first, but graciously opened to us as well.
Lila says he's alive-- the statue, I mean. I've never seen it come to life myself or anything... But you can't deny there is a massive amount of energy radiating from it.
"It's why our forests are so lush.
It's why our plant harvest is always bountiful.
It's even why some villagers, like myself, grow plant life on our bodies."
She pauses, going up to leave a small offering of fruit at the base of the statue.
"It's definetely a unique creature, for sure. I can't help but be reminded of the dangerous monsters we have lurking around the dark parts our woods. I wonder if it's one of them as well, or perhaps related?"
She turns away, preparing to leave.
"...Regardless, we are all grateful for the life it's given us. Thank you for coming for visit it."
After a few moments watching the statue, you decide you leave some of your own lunch you've brought along with you as an offering. As you're leaving, you feel a tingle up your spine, and suddenly feel a subtle breeze. But when you turn around, nothing has changed.
