Shirovita had been a doctor with an interest in researching microbiology to further his knowledge and understanding of illnesses and how to combat them. However, one day a slight error coupled with a series of misfortunes led to his work causing many deaths, when he had only wished for it to save lives. Unable to think of himself as anything but a murderer, he abandoned his medicinal studies and lived as far away from civilization as he could, feeling as though nothing he ever did would let him atone.

Exploration
In his efforts to stay as far away from other sentient beings as possible, Shirovita has visited the highest mountains and deepest canyons in search for a place to live his self-imposed solitude. Despite his vow to abstain from medicines, the many new herbs he came across piqued his interest, and before he knew it, he actually enjoyed longer strolls away from his new home, always in anticipation to discover something new.

It wasn't just the herbs that caught Shirovita's attention, for he learned many foreign healing techniques as well – a gift no medical book could have provided for him. While he still refused to be a doctor to anyone, over time people began to visit him for medical advice; first scarcely and eventually more and more. Whenever there was no cure for a patient, they were advised to visit the hermit doctor, as he was often called. It was due to this reputation that Kijame sought him out: having been isolated for many centuries, her body was having troubles fighting off the germs of the current day and age, and common medication was having adverse affects on her body.

Doctoring
Thankfully, he was able to save her life by utilizing knowledge old and new. The procedure took a long time during which the two got to know each other better. Shirovita had spent quite some time on his own and their first conversations were often accompanied by awkward silences, but eventually he opened up to her about who he was and why he lived this way. Grateful to have survived thanks to his care, Kijame managed to convince him that using his gift to keep saving lives was the best - if not the only - way to truly make amends for what happened. It is her hope that by curing his patients, he will also heal the wounds of his heart and mind.

Alchemy
With all the concoction brewing and paste grinding, it comes as no surprise that Shirovita would eventually come to dabble in alchemy. While not necessarily medicinal in nature, the many alchemic potions required an understanding of various kinds of anatomy, which could further aid him in his studies. Unwilling to just test with any creature, his current looks are the result of his very first attempts to brew a morphing potion. The transformation process just might hold the keys he needed to be able to combat any disease...
