In an effort to breathe new life in to the Alchemist Career, we’ve decided on making some small tweaks to the Species Morphing Potions and the Villager creation process in the near future. While we do not have an exact date for the roll out of this change yet, we are making this announcement so that you can be prepared for what is coming.

The upcoming changes will be as follows:

-Creating a new Villager will be limited to the first three colors released per species.

--The remaining colors and any future additions will be available via the Species Morphing Potions.
--The randomized nature of the Species Morphing Potions will be removed, allowing you to choose the color you'd like to apply to your Villager. As such, the feature allowing you to refine the Morphing Potion at the Alchemist will be removed as it is no longer necessary.

In the future we are also looking forward to the release of Limited Edition Colors for Villagers that will be obtainable via other means, such as upcoming events. These Limited Colors will not be available through the regular Species Morphing Potions. There will be more details to come on this portion of the update as they are made available.

Our hope is that these changes will add a valuable new facet to the Species Morphing Potions and the Alchemist Career!

    • Please let the Limited Edition Colors act as a paintie upload so we can save them in a villager's wardrobe rather than a one time species/color change that will be lost if we try to do anything else to that villager.

    • I agree with bandycam, honestly. I'd love to see more costume work done, especially adding other species to the list of wearable costumes. I mean, having limited edition, special colors for those who can't afford painties are nice and I don't oppose to it, but I hope you guys take the costume thing into consideration in the future?

So maybe leave the unobtainable ones view-able, but un-selectable with a note stating that they require a Morphing Potion? Do you think that would be beneficial?

    • i think this is a really good idea. species morphing potions really aren't that difficult to come by, and the non-special ones tend to be really cheap. the one thing i would suggest is that when this goes live, there be a link in a prominent location on the villager creation screen that leads to the complete list of obtainable colors, and explains how to use a morphing potion to get them. otherwise, especially when the site opens, a lot of new players could get upset/bored at the limited options, and decide it isn't worth playing before they realize that there is a large variety of colors that are easily obtainable.

I'm not even sure myself what the events will be. But I personally would prefer to see events in which anyone that participates has a chance at obtaining whatever item(s) at the "finish line". I don't want the events to feel like a flat out contest with only a few winners.

    • @Admin-Deinmaar Will the userbase be able to vote for the types of events? I'm personally hoping for types of events that involve collecting tokens or points, instead of contest type events with only a select few winners. In other words, events that everyone has a chance of obtaining event items if they work for it?

    • @CerberusSoul
I'm assuming they'll be super special in some way.

You're not required to participate in events. They will be available for those who wish to join. As this IS a game, events have been widely suggested because they can be a lot of fun. Though if some players don't wish to participate, that's perfectly fine too.

    • Thanks for ridding us of that useless feature!
Don't really know why we need special "colors" on any species when you can do whatever colors you want via paintie. But I guess it's for those that can't afford one, maybe? Oh well..

    • (since I can't edit)...Probably another unpopular opinion, but.... Also, I'm not all that thrilled to hear that there will be 'events' I have enough 'events' that happen in other games that I have to keep track of...it was nice that this one didn't have those, so it wasn't as stressful.
