Morphing Potion Changes

In an effort to breathe new life in to the Alchemist Career, we’ve decided on making some small tweaks to the Species Morphing Potions and the Villager creation process in the near future. While we do not have an exact date for the roll out of this change yet, we are making this announcement so that you can be prepared for what is coming.

The upcoming changes will be as follows:

-Creating a new Villager will be limited to the first three colors released per species.

--The remaining colors and any future additions will be available via the Species Morphing Potions.
--The randomized nature of the Species Morphing Potions will be removed, allowing you to choose the color you'd like to apply to your Villager. As such, the feature allowing you to refine the Morphing Potion at the Alchemist will be removed as it is no longer necessary.

In the future we are also looking forward to the release of Limited Edition Colors for Villagers that will be obtainable via other means, such as upcoming events. These Limited Colors will not be available through the regular Species Morphing Potions. There will be more details to come on this portion of the update as they are made available.

Our hope is that these changes will add a valuable new facet to the Species Morphing Potions and the Alchemist Career!

      We're thinking special events in order to get them. Not discussed what kind of events they would be yet though. But I'm excited!

      limited colors are my jaaam. also a good (maybe cheaper?) alternative to costumes for newer players - which is always a bonus.

    • The species change potion revamp sounds fair enough. The potions aren't too difficult to make. I'm a bit worried about the limited edition colors though, I hope those won't be too difficult to get ;V;


    • Only the first three colors available at villager creation? Do NOT like. Probably an unpopular opinion, but.... We need MORE available colors for villager creation, not less! If I want to make, say, one of the 'wolf' colors that are further down the list, I want it AT villager creation, not having to use a potion for it later! Aren't the rare species morphing potions enough?

      I for one, am super excited for this. I think limiting things to the first three colors created is a good way to go (though, my question is how does that work with some of the species that are many different ones put under one large title - big cats and canines come to mind for this) and it would be nice to see alchemists having a use again, I don't think I've used mine since I first made from friends DAD potions way back in the beginning.

      As for limited colors... I enjoy the idea but I wonder what the point is? Most colors can be done via painties, and honestly I'd personally rather see more costume work done! (This is just a personal opinion though.)



    • I recall making a suggestion along these lines some time ago, and I think I actually like this implementation more. Can't wait to see what kind of limited colors come out. I'm really hoping this allows for some existing species with few colors to get more colors that aren't necessarily true to nature like the Red Panda variants.
