Seeking Programming Talent

Programmers.png

We come to you today with the unfortunate news that our developer has been missing since the server move in June. We know that some of you have been waiting for a fix to the daily streak, and many prospective players have e-mailed us expressing concern over being unable to join the game, but we have not been able to fix these problems without the aid of a developer. It appears at this time we must accept the inevitability of finding another programmer.

Until we are able to find a new programmer, the Oceandome event is on indefinite hiatus. Our focus right now is going to be finding a developer who can fix the registration bug and fix the IP queue (which was unfortunately damaged during the server move as well). At that point, we can address the daily streak and start thinking about the Oceandome event again, as all of the documents for the event are planned out and much of the content is ready, we simply need the programming to go forward with our plans.

This lack of programming staff has thrown a big wrench into all of our planned changes, so please bear with us while we try to find someone who can appropriately tend to our codebase. As you may guess, Furvilla is a very large and complex site. As such, we have to be vigilant with who we hire to ensure their skill level matches the demands of the codebase.

That said, if you are a programmer familiar with PHP and the Laravel framework and are interested in becoming a Furvilla developer, please contact us with your portfolio at [email protected].

We hope to find a new developer soon so we can get back on track. We'll let everyone know when we've found a good match!

NOTE: The Oceandome Event is NOT BEING CANCELLED, the Event is simply being POSTPONED.

    • im not sure why everyone is throwing such a fit over the dev being unavailable since june. thats barely a month, thats a reasonable amount of time to try to hear back from someone before moving on? at least in my opinion

      either way i hope you guys can find someone new to work with, who might be more reliable this time :x

    • KikiKaori Manah The admin clarified that they had three programmers they were in contact with, one of which replied (but was busy) and the other two haven't replied (but are also known to be very busy)

    • yikes, i knew there were probably some issues behind the scenes since there were some problems building up on the site but i had no idea it was something so big. good luck finding a replacement y'all!

    • I mean... I know it can't be helped, but I've been looking forward to OD's event for so long... I was really looking forward to it! It's pretty much all that's been keeping me on the site really...

    • Then again, as I've read from the comments, I hope it wasn't something bad that happened to developer.

    • Wow, the developer just poofed without a word? That's so irresponsible, if the developer wanted to back down from their position - they should have said something or I don't know.. anything that's not suddenly disappearing without a word to the staff. :/

    • ScissorMouth Most websites compensate users if it comes down to it, it wasn't selfish to suggest it??? If they have to skip ODs event why would it hurt to just compensate people with what we were supposed to be able to earn during it? It'd be a bit shitty if they held all the items till next year and let us all be disappointed over what was already hyped. I'm not trying to sound greedy or something, I'm just saying IF it come down to it and it has to be skipped. IF. I'm not saying "give us shit now" that WOULD be rude, and I am not trying to sound rude. I'm sure they'll find someone in time to pull off the event still so it likely won't even come down to that possibility, but I mean if it did you know??? I wasn't trying to come off as some greedy ass.

    • I'm glad the problem's getting handled. You never fail to let us down, Mods! <3
      Good luck finding a new developer, and I hope our previous one is doing well.

    • THREE developers didn't respond? That's a streak of bad luck right there. Extremely unprofessional of them if I may be bold. I appreciate being informed about this. I personally don't mind if the event is late, these things can happen. I hope you guys find a solution ;u;

    • Maybe you can bring back Rasui as a workaround. :)
