The Traveler shares some secrets!

The Traveler has been called away on some (what he claims to be) important business. As such, he will no longer be able to force convince his blacksmith friend to upgrade equipment.
But do not fret, dear Furvillans! You are now able to add your own sockets to equipment, and believe it or not, the final cost to do so is much less then our tricky ol' hyena friend was previously charging.
Socket-O-Matics
By visiting the Fair Exchange, you will be able to purchase the following recipes for your Crafters to learn:

Socket-O-Matic 5 may be obtained rarely when crafting a Socket-O-Matic 4.
When crafted, these recipes will yield a fantastic Socket-O-Matic. Each of these items is able to add up to a certain number of sockets to an equipment. Please read their descriptions carefully before use for best results. These are single-use items.
Ingredients New and Old
The following items are also now available at the Fair Exchange. You will need these items in order to craft Socket-O-Matics.
Traveler's Treasures!
The Secret Ingredient contains a very rare substance that the Traveler has collected himself! Sketchy Stamps can also be added to your Stamp Collection, and you may notice them being asked for in Quests soon as well. Each of these items will have unlimited stock. Item Upgrade Tickets may still be obtained in the Tourney Shop, and have had their cost reduced to 500 VP, down from 875 VP.
As the Traveler has always accepted a combination of FD and FC as payment for upgrades, you will also find The Secret Ingredient for sale in the Furdollar Emporium.
Exempt Items
Unfortunately, I am informed that these Socket-O-Matics will not work on the following items:
All Amulets
All Battlepets
Mystery Meat
Sheet Collar of Amasis
Silvered Dagger
Lunar Diadem
Solar Flare Collar
Crossbow
Bow of Fury
Antler Bow and Arrow
I tried to talk the Traveler into allowing it, but he says it simply cannot be done.
Crystal Removers
Have a crystal in an item and need to get it back? Also from the Fair Exchange, as well as the Furdollar Emporium, you may now pick up a Crystal Remover for a modest price.
A Crystal Remover is a single-use item which allows you to choose which crystal already on an equipment you possess shall be removed. This is mostly useful for expensive or rare crystals.
Remember, you can still replace a crystal that is currently a socket with a new crystal, but the new crystal will destroy the current one unless you remove it first.
Back Again Someday!
The Traveler tells me that his plans include exploring outside of Furvilla to find some new and exciting things to share with you all. He assures me he will return, perhaps unexpectedly, with new and exciting deals... someday.
If you happen to have an outstanding trade with the Traveler at this time, he will honor it before he leaves on his journey. Otherwise, it is now up to your villagers to help you craft Smithing Hammers and Socket-O-Matics!

Update on the Item Exploit

Hi furriends!
Its been an exciting day trying to clean up as much as we could resulting from the exploit mentioned in the previous news post. For obvious reasons I will not elaborate on what was done, but a player had seemingly discovered an exploit that allowed them to effectively create items illegitimately.
We will work on closing this exploit, while also monitoring the logs to make sure no one has or will do the same thing going forward. As far as we know, this is the first time this particular exploit has been used, and it required a level of clear intent to achieve it.
As a reminder, taking advantage of any exploit is strictly forbidden and results in a permanent ban.
Items of varying value and quantities were dumped into the Giving Tree and we have completed the process of manually removing the most concerning items. Certain items of less value and certain circumstances were exempted. For example, if you received an item in trade or as a gift, purchased an item in the stall, or already used the item, then in most cases it was left alone.
We feel satisfied that we cleaned up what was necessary and fair.
As of this post you can rest assured that any item you still have that you obtained as a result of the offending player's exploitation is now legitimate for you to do with as you wish.
Thank you all for your cooperation and understanding! Also, I want to give a big thanks to our staff who have worked so diligently!

Hi everyone!
Unfortunately, an exploit has been discovered that allowed a user to mass generate items, specifically Amethystine Steel, Golden Anvils, Silver Anvils, Buckeye Leafs, Post Oak Leafs, Infused Smithing Hammers, and Gilded Chests. If you have picked up any of these items from the giving tree over the last 24 hours, do not use it, sell, buy from stalls, open it, or craft with it until further notice.
You will not be punished if you have already crafted with or sold these items.
Do not do anything with these items from this point on, until further notice.
The exploited items will be removed from your inventory by staff.

Downtime Complete, Tourney Expansion!

Heya Furriends! Pleased to announce that downtime is complete!
New Career Achievements
Firstly, more new career achievements are here!
Your Blacksmiths, Tailors and Crafters can now earn trophies corresponding to their skill levels.
Skill Matters
Blacksmiths, Construction Workers, Alchemists, Cooks, Tailors, and Crafters should now all display skill levels on their career pages.
Blacksmiths, Tailors and Crafters are capable of crafting equipment, and we have made adjustments so your skill level at those careers will effect crafted equipment. Every time they earn a trophy, your villager will have an increased chance to produce equipment of better potency, as well as increased chances for sockets!
A New Tourney Format
The new Standard Tourney format is now live and available for beta testing. You will simply need to have a warrior registered in the Tourney to participate, if not already.
Equipment used in the Standard Tourney will automatically be scaled up or down to 100%. At this time, no equipment is banned, however, we anticipate some very powerful equipment will be added to a ban list. We are asking for your input and help determining this!
Admin-Wisteria will be leading this discussion. To participate in feedback, please use this dedicated feedback thread:
Ultimately, the goal is to create a more level playing field for Player vs Player, and we hope this will put more emphasis on build creativity and lead to a more diverse playing environment.
This beta testing round will go until the end of May. Everyone who completes at least 10 battles in the Standard Tourney during this beta testing will be awarded a special Kitsune Trophy for their help!
Going forward, the Standard Tourney will give villager trophy rewards based on participation.
The Tourney Free-For-All
For the mightiest of warriors in Furvilla, the original Tourney is still available. It is now renamed Free-For-All, and has no limitations or equipment bans. It has its own rankings and leader-board, so you can continue to flex your power for all to behold!
However, there will no longer be a Valor Points prize at the end of each Free-for-All Tourney, with the current Tourney being the last to give such a prize.
The duration of the current Free-for-All Tourney will also be extended to the end of May for testing purposes. Come June, both Tourneys will return to the twice-a-month format.
More Tourney Info
Registering for either Tourney page will automatically register you for both Tourneys.
To encourage warriors to participate in duels more often, we have increased VP earned from PvP duels in both Tourneys. In the Standard Duel, you will earn 10 points for a loss and 50 points for a win. In the Free-for-All, you will earn 10 points for a loss and 30 points for a win. Between the two, the VP cap has been increased to 10,000 from 5,000.
Your registered warrior will continue to earn VP from monster (PvE) battles at a rate of 5 VP per win, with a cap of 10,000 points.
Finally, to celebrate village pride, we will be keeping track of village statistics for each Tourney, with the village with the highest winning percentage declared the Champion at the end.
There is no associated prize, but we are sure your mayors would be very proud if you fight hard for your village! Even Chief Clawtooth has sent his warriors to participate. You may not battle his lion warriors directly, but statistics show they win about half of the time. They'll be a good benchmark for your village to strive to beat!
Tourney Shop Update!
We are currently working on adding some new items to the Tourney shop. Keep an eye out for it's grand re-opening shortly. We will post a changelog when it opens up again.
You may also notice some items which used duplicate art with another item on site received a refresh. This is an ongoing project and eventually all items on site will have unique art.
Olde Foxbury Festival
We anticipate the Olde Foxbury Festival to happen sometime in June. The Tourney will once again play a key part in the event, and we expect to be finished with beta testing on the new format by the festival's start.
As with last year, themed craftables are planned, as well as a special explore event.
We also have another new feature coming for the festival that we think will be a lot of fun. More details on this addition will be coming soon.
